Icons 2027 Edition

A smaller introductory set featuring familiar heroes, villains and straightforward mechanics. The Starter Box teaches the game through Leia Organa and Darth Vader decks; Icons boosters contain nine cards rather than the standard set's 16.

How a match works

Unlike traditional turn-based card games, players alternate taking individual actions. A good deck needs a plan for both offense and survival.

01 / BUILD

Choose leader and base

These determine your aspects. A standard Premier deck has at least 50 draw-deck cards, plus its leader and base.

02 / RESOURCE

Pay to play cards

Place cards into your resource area during the regroup phase. Exhaust available resources to pay card costs.

03 / FIGHT

Battle in two arenas

Deploy ground troops and space units. Alternate actions to play cards, attack, use abilities or pass.

04 / WIN

Defeat the enemy base

Deal damage equal to the opposing base's HP before your opponent destroys yours.

For exact timing, keywords and edge cases, consult the current official rules.

Which aspect fits your deck?

Leader and base aspect icons determine which cards are easiest to include. Choose an aspect to see its typical role.

Vigilance · Blue

Defend, heal damage and remove enemy threats. Favor careful positioning and endurance rather than a fast race.

Different formats, different decisions

Competitive and casual modes use different deckbuilding pools and player counts. Choose a format to compare them.

Premier · Two players

The primary constructed competitive format. Bring a leader, a base and at least 50 draw-deck cards. The legal card pool rotates: the first three 2024 expansions left Premier when A Lawless Time released in March 2026.

Know what you pulled

A playable common and an expensive collector variant can feature the same character. Record the set, card number, treatment, condition and whether the card is a promotion.

Hyperspace & foil

Hyperspace treatments extend the illustration beyond the standard card frame. Foil treatments change the surface finish. Confirm both traits when identifying a variant.

Showcase

Showcase leader cards feature special illustrated treatments and are distinct from ordinary leader cards. Use the official card list to verify the exact printing.

Prestige & Carbonite

Prestige variants are found in special premium Carbonite products. Distribution and limited-print details depend on the set. Do not assume every variant is available in standard boosters.

For resale values, use recent completed sales of the exact edition rather than unsold asking prices. Card condition, language, region and promotional provenance can change comparability. Unlike our traditional trading card archive, this hub covers the game as both a collectible and a playable system.
