The timeline is more than a sequence of battles. Each era changes the institutions, technologies, political assumptions, identities, and everyday conditions of the galaxy. Imperial Dark Sector follows the official nine-era framework and expands it into long-form historical files.
How to use the timeline
Each era file connects stories to the political and social world around them: who governs, which institutions hold authority, how people move and work, what counts as legitimate power, and how memory from one era becomes political material in the next.

The deepest official era asks how the Jedi, Republic, and later Sith traditions became possible. It is a period where origins matter more than a complete fixed chronology.
An immense age of Republic, Jedi, Sith, Mandalorian conflict, and political memory. Current canon is reopening this period while KOTOR, SWTOR, and Revan remain essential Legends context.
The Republic expands, the Jedi operate at the height of their public confidence, and the Great Disaster, Nihil, and other crises expose the limits of a celebrated golden age.
The Republic enters full-scale war, Jedi become generals, emergency power expands, and Palpatine turns institutional crisis into the destruction of the Jedi and the birth of the Empire.
Imperial rule reshapes administration, labor, policing, science, and everyday life while Jedi survivors, local communities, criminal networks, and early rebels adapt to the new regime.
Local insurgencies become a galactic Alliance, transforming covert resistance into open civil war through Scarif, Yavin, Hoth, Endor, and the political work of coalition.
The victorious rebellion becomes a government and inherits the harder problems of reconstruction, demilitarization, justice, frontier administration, Mandalorian restoration, and surviving Imperial networks.
Imperial successor networks become the First Order, the New Republic is shattered, and a small Resistance becomes the center of a new struggle over authoritarian restoration and democratic survival.
The official future-facing era begins after the defeat at Exegol and centers the unresolved problem of rebuilding Jedi life without simply reproducing the institutions that failed before.
