Dating and method: BBY measures years before the Battle of Yavin. Approximate dates are labeled. The research lab distinguishes source events from interpretation, and image captions identify representative visuals.

A summit conceals a research network

Doctor Royce Hemlock and senior Imperial officials met at Eriadu. Clone Force 99 infiltrated the site looking for a way to find Crosshair, who was being held by the Empire. Saw Gerrera's separate sabotage operation complicated their withdrawal.

The railcar is trapped

As Imperial forces attacked the escaping clones, their suspended railcar became stranded. Tech moved into a dangerous position to release the damaged connection. He understood that saving the others required letting the car section carrying him fall.

Plan 99

The squad used Plan 99 to describe an ultimate sacrifice for comrades. Tech carried it out despite Wrecker's protests. Hunter, Omega and the other surviving members escaped, but the loss shattered the group.

The danger of dating precision

The episode occurs after the stormtrooper recruitment bill, which is associated with 18 BBY. The most defensible label is during or after that year rather than an invented exact day. The event also establishes how voluntary self-sacrifice differs from the Empire's expectation that clones should be expended.

Tech activates Plan 99: what the original story establishes

Source-grounded history

During an attempt to learn more about Crosshair's imprisonment, Clone Force 99 infiltrated an Imperial summit on Eriadu. Their retreat along a high-altitude rail system became desperate when the structure was damaged and Imperial forces closed in. Tech used Plan 99 to sever the falling carriage, sacrificing himself to allow the others a chance to escape. The survivors' grief intensified when Omega was later seized.

Political anthropology and material consequences

The squad's relationship was not exhausted by its training as a military unit. Tech's decision displayed a form of solidarity in which one soldier accepted extraordinary danger for people he treated as family. Eriadu's automated transit infrastructure also became decisive: a damaged rail and rescue constraint were as consequential as the armed pursuers.
