A threat designed to hunt Jedi

The Yuuzhan Vong produced voxyn, deadly creatures engineered to track Force-sensitive people. Their use threatened Jedi and vulnerable communities already displaced by invasion. Anakin Solo led a team of younger Jedi against the source of the beasts rather than wait for additional attacks.

A strike team in enemy territory

Seventeen Jedi infiltrated the worldship Baanu Rass near Myrkr. Members included Jacen and Jaina Solo, Tahiri Veila and other students and Knights. Their goals required stealth, shared trust and the ability to improvise while hunted by enemy soldiers and biological weapons.

Destroying the queen at enormous cost

The team succeeded in eliminating the voxyn queen, limiting the enemy's ability to continue breeding the creatures. Anakin died during the mission, and other Jedi were killed or separated. Jacen Solo was captured, leaving many survivors unsure what had happened to him.

The loss reverberates through the Order

Anakin's death devastated his parents, Han and Leia, and his sister Jaina, whose anger and grief affected her behavior. His sacrifice occurred in a period of weakening New Republic defenses, making the victory seem bitterly incomplete.

Anthropological assessment

The mission shows how a community evaluates success when a dangerous weapon is destroyed at the cost of its members. The young Jedi were not an expendable resource, and the consequences of their deaths persisted beyond the immediate tactical outcome.

Interactive archival analysis

Is Anakin Solo the same person as Anakin Skywalker, Darth Vader?

No. He is Han and Leia's youngest son, named for his maternal grandfather in Legends.
