- Eriadu, Outer Rim
Around 900 BBY, five influential families of Corulag ancestry moved to Eriadu. Known collectively as the Quintad, they helped transform the Outer Rim world from a place associated with delicate shellwork into an industrial powerhouse. Their arrival marked an elite migration that would affect commerce, politics and the environment for centuries.
A new elite arrives
Eriadu sat at the intersection of important galactic routes and had become economically valuable before the Quintad migrated. The five families brought wealth, political relationships and a shared interest in establishing local industrial influence. Their movement was not the first settlement of the planet.
Industry replaces other economic identities
Factories and shipyards eventually became defining parts of Eriadu's economy. Industrial development also contributed to pollution and changes in marine conditions, undermining earlier industries built around distinctive shell materials. Such environmental costs were part of the world the Quintad helped create.
A longer political legacy
The Tarkin family became one of Eriadu's most powerful dynasties. Its later Imperial importance should not be used to assume that the family or its allies controlled everything immediately in 900 BBY. The rise of industrial oligarchy took generations.
Anthropological assessment
Eriadu illustrates how elite migration can reorganize economic landscapes and transform local hierarchies. Industrial growth and environmental loss are connected historical developments, not separate stories.

Historical sequence, material evidence and political authority
The Quintad families settle Eriadu: the historical record
Around 900 BBY, five influential families associated with Corulag settled on Eriadu. Their elite influence helped shape the planet's later manufacturing and trade systems. This foundation is part of Tarkin's much later family background, not a claim that he or his immediate ancestors governed the founding colony.
Anthropological assessment
Eriadu's transformation shows how kinship-based economic power can become civic authority. Families may accumulate land and industrial connections over generations, while ordinary workers produce the material changes. The date marks a historical shift, not the completion of the planet's industrialization.
