Events, sources and sequences
Chewbacca's early second-century BBY birth precedes his later role in the Clone Wars, Rebel Alliance and Resistance. The date places him within the social history of Kashyyyk long before his most familiar friendship with Han Solo. A later film portrait is a genuine image of Chewbacca but not an image of his birth.
Anthropological assessment
Wookiee longevity connects one person's life to multiple forms of galactic government. It does not imply that his personal experiences represent every Wookiee community. A birth entry should preserve the distinction between family and species, and between the indigenous world and later Imperial enslavement.
Primary publication and date
