How third-party material is used
Identification, commentary, research & reference
Third-party names and imagery may appear where they are useful to identify the fictional subject, published work, product, character, location, or object being discussed. IDS aims to pair that material with substantial original commentary, research, criticism, education, comparison, or collecting reference rather than republishing works as substitutes for the originals.
Where practical, official imagery and product material are attributed or linked back to an appropriate official source. The amount and context of material used can vary by page, and IDS may revise or remove material when a stronger or more appropriate alternative becomes available.
Rights requests
Ask for review, attribution, or removal
If you are a rights holder or authorized representative and believe material on IDS should be reviewed, attributed differently, replaced, or removed, email [email protected]. Please identify the IDS URL, the material at issue, the work or right you represent, and the action you are requesting.
IDS will use the information provided to locate and evaluate the material. This contact route is also appropriate for photographers, artists, publishers, manufacturers, and other creators who believe a credit should be corrected or expanded.
Trademarks
Names identify the subjects discussed
References to Star Wars, character names, product lines, companies, marketplaces, and other brands are used to identify the subjects of commentary, research, or collecting information. Their appearance does not imply sponsorship, partnership, approval, or endorsement unless a specific commercial relationship is expressly disclosed.
