Imperial Dark Sector is an independent Star Wars fan and collector publication. This page explains what the site stores, how advertising may work, and how shopping relationships are identified.
Checklist information
The card checklist uses browser storage on your device to remember cards marked as owned, serial numbers, grades, and private notes. That information is not sent to Imperial Dark Sector by the current site. Use the backup function in the Card Archive if you want a copy of your collection data.
Advertising
Imperial Dark Sector uses a conservative page-level advertising policy. Display advertising may be enabled only on substantial editorial or reference pages with meaningful publisher-created content, such as detailed lore and character dossiers, culture and organization files, combat records, long-form reviews, collector guides, and substantive book, comic, game, or card-set research. Search results, tools, randomizers, comparison interfaces, subject/topic/question hubs, simple navigation indexes, the homepage, and trust or legal pages are intentionally marked as ineligible for display advertising.
The site build assigns every page an advertising-eligibility marker and publishes a machine-readable policy manifest. This makes the separation enforceable when ad code is enabled rather than relying on ad placement by memory. When Google AdSense is enabled on an eligible page, Google and its advertising partners may place and read cookies on visitors' browsers and may use web beacons, IP addresses, or similar identifiers for ad delivery, measurement, and personalization. Visitors can learn how Google uses data when they use partners' sites or apps by visiting Google's partner-site privacy information. Advertising is separate from IDS editorial recommendations, and Imperial Dark Sector does not personally endorse every ad that appears.
Shopping and referral links
Imperial Dark Sector currently uses affiliate or referral relationships with Amazon Associates, Ding Defend, and the LEGO Brand Retail (US) program through Rakuten Advertising. Tracked affiliate links are labeled at or near the point of use. IDS may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through those links at no added cost to the buyer. Commercial links are kept primarily inside collector-focused or media-reference pages where the product directly relates to the topic being discussed.
The Imperial Dark Sector eBay store is different: it is IDS's own marketplace, not an affiliate program. Links to that store direct visitors to inventory listed by IDS. Ding Defend currently provides the coupon code IMPERIALDARKSECTOR for 10% off qualifying purchases of $40 or more, limited to one discounted order per customer. Discount terms, pricing, stock, and program rules are controlled by Ding Defend and may change.
Amazon Associates
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Amazon shopping links on Imperial Dark Sector are identified as paid links near the point of use. The Amazon tracking ID is used only to attribute qualifying referrals from IDS to Amazon. Amazon controls product availability, pricing, shipping, returns, and other purchase terms.
IDS uses Amazon links where they are relevant to existing editorial or collector content, including Star Wars books and other appropriate media or collecting resources. Affiliate status does not determine whether a title or product is included in the archive.
LEGO Star Wars links
Imperial Dark Sector participates in the LEGO Brand Retail (US) affiliate program through Rakuten Advertising. On the LEGO collector guide, tracked links are labeled Official LEGO Store · Affiliate and lead to LEGO.com through the affiliate program. IDS may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through those links at no added cost to the buyer. Other unmarked LEGO.com links are used as reference or source links rather than tracked product recommendations.
LEGO product prices, availability, retirement notices, promotions, and purchase limits are controlled by the LEGO Group and may change. Product images on the LEGO guide identify the official products being discussed and connect the collector research to the corresponding official product page.
Analytics and ad tools
Analytics or ad-network tools may be used to understand traffic, measure advertising, or support the archive. When a provider is active, this page will identify the provider and any consent choices required by that provider or by the visitor's location. The site also publishes an ads.txt record at the site root so authorized advertising sellers can be verified.
Newsletter and email updates
Visitors can choose to join the Imperial Dark Sector email list from the Contact & Newsletter page. An email address is required to receive updates; a name is optional. IDS uses this information to manage the mailing list and send occasional Star Wars news, archive updates, event reminders, collecting notes, and special IDS announcements.
The current newsletter signup form is processed by FormSubmit, which delivers the submitted name, email address, consent response, and form metadata to [email protected]. IDS uses that information only to maintain the mailing list and send the updates described above. IDS does not sell the subscriber list or use newsletter signups to create advertising profiles.
Subscribers can leave the list at any time by emailing [email protected] with UNSUBSCRIBE in the subject line. IDS may move newsletter delivery to a dedicated mailing-list provider later, but that migration is not active yet.

Questions about privacy, advertising, corrections, source attribution, copyright, trademark use, removal requests, or newsletter preferences can be sent to [email protected]. General correspondence still uses direct email; the embedded form on the Contact page is specifically for voluntary newsletter signup.

Imperial Dark Sector is not affiliated with or endorsed by Topps, Lucasfilm, Disney, eBay, Ding Defend, or the LEGO Group. Star Wars, LEGO, and related marks belong to their respective owners. Product images and links are used to identify the products discussed and to direct readers to official or marketplace pages.
