A birth on a day of political change
Leia and Han's son was born in Hanna City on Chandrila, the same day the Galactic Concordance was signed. After years in which the Empire's destruction had demanded nearly every resource of his parents' lives, the birth suggested the possibility of a peacetime family future. The date is specifically tied to the treaty in Chuck Wendig's Aftermath: Empire's End. It is therefore not a later estimate inferred only from Ben's age.
Naming and inherited family histories
Han selected the name Ben, honoring the identity by which Obi-Wan Kenobi had been known while protecting Luke Skywalker. Leia carried the legacy of Alderaan's ruling family, although the world itself had been destroyed by the Death Star. Han's name originated from his own precarious youth. Their son inherited stories of adoption, loss, survival and political commitment rather than a single straightforward dynastic identity.
The child does not determine his future
Ben was Force-sensitive and grew up with parents who held enormous public responsibilities. He would later study with Luke, face manipulation by Snoke, and become Kylo Ren. Yet none of these later experiences should be projected onto the newborn. His biography became a struggle over expectations placed upon him and his own decisions, not an event predetermined by the peace treaty.
Chandrila as a new center
The New Republic's provisional capital represented an attempt to establish legitimate rule without reproducing Palpatine's centralized dictatorship. The celebration of the end of the war coincided with family rituals surrounding the birth, placing private hopes alongside a public transition. Ben's early life took place in a society still working through the consequences of imperial violence.
Anthropological interpretation
Births can carry meanings that extend beyond kinship when the child's family is politically prominent. Ben's birth became associated with the restoration of peace, while his later history exposed the difficulty of assigning a child the symbolic role of repairing the past.

Try the three evidence questions below. Each choice explores a real tension in the story rather than inventing a new Canon ending. Select one and the interpretation appears below.
Did Ben Solo arrive decades after the Concordance?
Supported answer: No. Canon places his birth on Chandrila in 5 ABY on the day the treaty was signed.
Unsupported alternative: Yes. He was born only after the First Order fell.

Testing the distinction between an event and its later meaning
Ben Solo's birth has a particularly precise narrative relationship to the Galactic Concordance: Aftermath: Empire's End places the family event alongside the formal end of the main war. That conjunction makes the date meaningful to readers, but it does not create a causal link between the child and the diplomatic settlement. The novel is the appropriate source for that day-level claim. Lucasfilm's public New Republic Databank independently establishes that the treaty was signed, but does not itself report the time of Ben's birth. The two sources therefore serve different evidentiary functions.
Images of the adult Kylo Ren also have a limited use in this dossier. They identify the person readers later know, but do not document what he looked like as a newborn on Chandrila. The title and caption should preserve that distinction. Later accounts of Ben's training, the fall of Luke's Jedi school and the rise of Kylo Ren can supply subsequent biography; none should be treated as proof that the newborn was destined to make particular choices.
An anthropological reading can investigate why famous families give names that connect descendants to mentors and why a public peace celebration can become entwined with private family memory. These are interpretive questions rather than direct quotations from any character. The Concordance dossier addresses the treaty itself, while Leia's training dossier examines decisions about family life and institutional training. Separating these records helps readers avoid confusing chronology with moral prediction.
