Sith Lord Belia Darzu creates technobeast armies and ushers in two decades of warfare.
A new Dark Lord of the Sith
In 1250 BBY the Sith warlord Belia Darzu rose to prominence. She was a Shi'ido shapeshifter and an accomplished practitioner of Sith alchemy. Her campaigns became the core of the Sictis Wars, a twenty-year portion of the much longer New Sith Wars.
The nanogene spore
Darzu combined dark-side techniques and machinery to create the nanogene spore, which transformed living victims into part-mechanical beings called technobeasts. This was not ordinary mechanical prosthetics or voluntary augmentation. The process robbed victims of agency and turned their altered bodies into components of a controlled army.
Tython as a research and military center
Darzu maintained a fortified stronghold on Tython where she developed alchemical methods and housed the Metanecrons, the army of technobeasts. She also recorded knowledge in a Sith holocron. These objects and structures outlasted her reign, showing how hazardous techniques can survive their creators.
Anthropological assessment
The Sictis Wars combine warfare with the transformation of captured bodies into instruments of control. The production of technobeasts provides a disturbing example of forced bodily modification and the removal of individual personhood for political ends.
Interactive historical analysis
Were technobeasts ordinary battle droids?
No. They were living victims transformed through Sith alchemy and nanogene technology.

Belia Darzu and the Sictis Wars
Source-grounded account
Belia Darzu, a Shi'ido Sith ruler, began the Sictis Wars around 1250 BBY. Her experiments on Tython combined Sith alchemy with mechu-deru, producing nanogene spores that transformed living victims into controlled organic-mechanical technobeasts. These forces were known as Metanecrons.
Anthropological interpretation
The campaign placed control of bodies at the center of military authority. Converting unwilling people into weapons is not ordinary prosthetic care or voluntary adoption of technology. Examining the organization of force through coerced transformation gives this conflict a particular moral and material character.
Source and image accuracy
These Legends events derive from original novels, games, comics or historical reference works. The existing bibliography retains the original evidence trail. Details not recorded, such as unpublished casualties, dialogue and exact dates, remain unknown. This infographic is editorial interpretation.
