A Republic and Jedi victory leads to the conversion of former Sith temples into repositories of knowledge.
A planet under Sith influence
Around 1500 BBY the Sith had established a presence on Gap Nine and built temples associated with dark-side worship. A Republic operation involving Jedi and soldiers challenged that control. Unlike the other sparse 1500 BBY victories, Gap Nine has a later narrative describing what became of some of the sites.
The Sith are expelled
The Republic and Jedi defeated the occupying Sith. The remembered account emphasizes the arrival of opponents wielding lightsabers and the removal of a threatening religious power. Such a local tradition has interpretive value but should not be read as a minute-by-minute combat report.
Temples become knowledge repositories
Following the victory, Jedi transformed formerly Sith religious structures into places of learning and preservation. This conversion altered the meaning of existing buildings without erasing them physically. A site built for one spiritual institution was appropriated by its adversaries, who gave it another use.
Anthropological assessment
Gap Nine is an example of material and religious reclassification after conquest. Reusing an opponent's sacred architecture can preserve valuable structures while publicly displaying a new authority. The act can be interpreted differently by conquerors and former inhabitants.

Were the Sith temples simply destroyed?
Later local accounts say the Jedi repurposed them as storehouses of knowledge after expelling the Sith.

Reclaiming Gap Nine and reusing temples
Source-grounded account
Republic and Jedi forces recovered Gap Nine from Sith control. The subsequent treatment of former Sith temples is especially important: the sites became repositories of knowledge rather than simply being described as rubble from a battle.
Anthropological interpretation
Converting religious architecture changes access, custodianship and interpretation. Temples used by one group can acquire another institution's meaning without the physical structure disappearing. The transformation of such sites is as much an act of cultural classification as it is a political victory.
