A former alliance fractures

By 40 ABY, the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances was struggling to hold together worlds that had previously fought the Yuuzhan Vong. Corellia resisted centralized restrictions and developed military capabilities that the Galactic Alliance government considered dangerous. A dispute over security and political authority grew into armed conflict.

Adumar and hidden weapons

Jacen Solo and his young relative Ben Skywalker investigated an illicit missile factory on Adumar. Their mission was met with an ambush, adding evidence that influential figures were preparing for violent confrontation. The Alliance's coercive response deepened the mistrust of worlds that valued regional independence.

The Confederation emerges

Corellia's opposition attracted other systems, and the Five Worlds became a center of resistance to the Alliance. Competing interpretations of law, sovereignty and defense made the dispute difficult to resolve through military pressure. At the same time, Lumiya's influence began pulling Jacen Solo toward the Sith.

Anthropological assessment

The Corellian crisis shows how coalitions formed during war may fragment when peace exposes disagreements about legitimate authority. Both the central government and its opponents appealed to security while making choices that increased the risk to civilians.
