A young survivor finds another role

Wilmon Paak escaped Ferrix during the funeral uprising and later survived the flight from Mina-Rau. His familiarity with mechanical work and volatile fuel made him valuable to underground groups that could not rely on conventional military supply chains.

A visit to Saw's partisans

Wilmon reached Saw Gerrera's network to teach a fighter how to handle and extract the dangerous fuel rhydonium. The operation pulled him from technical instruction toward direct participation in a mission.

Different attitudes toward risk

Saw's fighters employed methods that were often hazardous even to their own members. Wilmon had to learn the expectations of an organization that prioritized militant action and secrecy, distinguishing it from his earlier life within Ferrix's repair community.

Anthropological assessment

The episode demonstrates the conversion of craft knowledge into a military resource. Technical labor can become an entry point into armed politics, especially for people who have already experienced displacement and repression.

Did Wilmon enter Saw's organization as an experienced Jedi general?

No. He came as a young technical specialist whose knowledge of rhydonium was useful to partisans.

Wilmon joins Saw Gerrera's partisans

What the original story establishes

Wilmon Paak's escape from Ferrix and later experience with the Empire left him vulnerable to radicalization and recruitment. Saw Gerrera's partisan organization gave him work using mechanical and explosive materials while exposing him to a leader whose strategy accepted risks other resistance cells found excessive. Wilmon's experience should not be confused with his father's earlier role in Luthen's network.

Culture, power and material life

The story examines how young mechanics and displaced people can be drawn into armed organizations through a combination of skill, loss and the desire to act. Saw's group was not identical to Mon Mothma's political coalition. Their different approaches to violence shaped how they treated recruits and civilians.
