A pirate story after the main heist
After the main events of Star Wars Outlaws, Kay Vess and Nix received an opportunity connected with an old pirate treasure in the Khepi system. Their expedition brought them together with Hondo Ohnaka, a veteran of the Clone Wars-era underworld whose reputation for elaborate schemes far exceeded his current material circumstances.
The Rokana Raiders claim the tomb
The pirate leader Stinger Tash commanded the Rokana Raiders, a group that made important decisions through votes and followed its own version of the pirate code. The gang sought the treasure hidden in Khepi Tomb, while Hondo and Kay attempted to outmaneuver them. The environment posed its own hazards, requiring special vehicles and strategies for navigation.
A treasure with dangerous consequences
The expedition uncovered an ancient store of battle droids. What initially appeared to be a financial prize threatened to release dormant military technology. Decisions during the story can alter how particular pirate encounters unfold, but the central expedition does not establish a new galactic government or an entirely different outcome to the Civil War.
Anthropological assessment
The Rokana Raiders are a useful case of political organization outside a recognized state. Collective votes and a claimed code of loyalty do not automatically make a group benevolent, but they do provide a distinctive form of internal legitimacy. The tomb also poses an archaeological question: who has the right to disturb old military remains, and what responsibilities accompany the discovery?

Was Khepi Tomb only an empty vault containing ordinary bank credits?
No. Its ancient military contents made the expedition potentially dangerous beyond questions of profit.

A post-heist pirate expedition
Lucasfilm states that A Pirate's Fortune takes place after the conclusion of the main Star Wars Outlaws storyline. Kay Vess and Nix team with Hondo Ohnaka, oppose Stinger Tash and the Rokana Raiders, and enter the Khepi Tomb. The Miyuki Trade League offers additional smuggling contracts. This is later in Kay's personal narrative, though the exact in-universe day remains unspecified.
The tomb setting invites an archaeological distinction: an object can be sought as loot, interpreted as evidence of a past community or treated as an object of cultural significance. The expansion presents a pirate treasure adventure rather than a scientific excavation report. Hondo's unreliable storytelling makes it particularly important not to report every character boast as a verified historical fact.

Piracy, partnership and the control of old places
Lucasfilm's announcement of A Pirate's Fortune specifies that Kay Vess and Nix meet Hondo Ohnaka in a story pack set after the base game's main narrative. The journey involves Stinger Tash's Rokana Raiders and infiltration of the Khepi Tomb. That is a concrete sequence to preserve: the expansion is not an alternate beginning to the vault escape or an event placed before Kay acquires the Trailblazer.
A tomb entered for treasure can become an arena in which competing groups make claims over material heritage. Pirates, traders and explorers may all regard objects as assets, while the cultural circumstances of the buried site receive less attention. The source names factions and a place but does not supply a full archaeological excavation record or prove which contemporary community holds a legitimate claim to every relic. The new diagram separates narrative sequence from that interpretive question.
Check the evidence: Does A Pirate's Fortune take place before Kay Vess's main-game heist?
Explanation: No. Lucasfilm explicitly places the story pack after the base game's main storyline.
