The confrontation becomes unavoidable

As Darth Caedus extended his use of coercion and military force, members of the Jedi Order concluded that he could no longer be treated as a difficult but reformable officer. His actions put civilian communities and even his own daughter Allana at risk.

A sister is asked to intervene

Jaina Solo trained for a confrontation with Jacen, her twin brother, with help from Boba Fett and Mandalorian warriors. Her mission required setting aside the expectation that family loyalty should always mean preserving a loved one's immediate wishes.

The final duel

Jaina boarded the Star Destroyer Anakin Solo and fought Caedus. She killed him, ending his personal rule and bringing the Second Galactic Civil War toward its conclusion. The victory was devastating rather than celebratory for the family.

Aftermath for the Alliance

The war left deaths, damaged legitimacy and distrust among former allies. Defeating a leader did not instantly settle the institutional problems that had enabled his rise or heal the affected communities.

Anthropological assessment

Jaina's choice illustrates a conflict between kinship solidarity and duty to protect others. The question is not whether she stopped loving her brother, but whether that relationship could justify allowing further violence.
