The Quiet Decades? What the Legends sources actually date

An interactive register of historically supported events, approximate family dates and missing year-specific evidence.

← Main Galactic Timeline · Full 44–140 ABY Audit

Published Marvel Star Wars Legacy 24 comic cover with two characters from Cade Skywalker's later life
Original art reference: Star Wars: Legacy (2006) #24. This is a genuine cover relevant to the Skywalker family history, not a depiction of 46 ABY or an image of an undated event.

Three evidence labels: Dated source indicates a specific year supported by published material. Approximate date signals a source-derived estimate with uncertainty. Source gap means no qualifying dated event has yet been established by the checked materials. A source gap must not be interpreted as a century of peace or inactivity.

46–54 ABY Source gap

No firmly dated episode identified

The source chronology does not establish a continuous sequence of dated conflicts here. The Fel Empire later emerged from the Imperial Remnant, but references place its founding broadly between 45 and 127 ABY. Do not assign a precise 46 ABY founding ceremony.

55 ABY Dated source

Lenang O'Pali publishes an Imperial interpretation of Thrawn

The polemic Mitth'raw'nuruodo Reconsidered: A Patriot's Perspective provides evidence for the politics of historical memory, not a new military campaign.

56–80 ABY Source gap

An interval of largely undated published narrative

The gap describes the present archival record and the limitations of our dated source coverage. It is not a declaration that nothing happened in galactic history.

81 ABY Dated source

Thull Kabanard publishes Portraits in Late Galactic History

Kabanard's study revisits the Second Galactic Civil War decades afterward. In-universe historiography is evidence of how later generations interpreted conflict.

82–91 ABY Source gap

No verified sequence of annual events

Roan Fel's age has an unofficial creator estimate that suggests a possible birth near 82 ABY. That is not sufficient to publish his precise birthday as an established dated event.

92 ABY Dated source

MC140 Scythe-class battlecruiser enters service

The Essential Guide to Warfare supplies a particular year for the introduction of a new Galactic Alliance naval design. This marks an institutional and technological change.

93–103 ABY Source gap

Institutional change is known, exact yearly milestones mostly are not

The Fel dynasty and the Imperial Mission developed over decades, but a specific year cannot safely be assigned to every ruler, charitable program or change in doctrine.

104 ABY Dated source

R2-D2 recounts history; Dr. Treon's Praji scholarship appears

The Skywalker chronicle associated with the Keeper of the Whills and the article Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Praji both have a source-grounded 104 ABY placement.

105–114 ABY Source gap

Family and institutional developments lack exact dates

Kol Skywalker's marriage and career developed before 117 ABY, but the sources do not establish separate exact years for all of these personal events.

c. 115–116 ABY Approximate date

Cade Skywalker is born to Kol Skywalker and Morrigan Corde

Published character chronology favors c. 115 ABY; a creator comment mentions 116 ABY. The discrepancy is retained rather than resolved by a fabricated birthday.

c. 117 ABY Approximate date

Morrigan Corde leaves the household and resumes Imperial service

The family flashbacks and a reference chronology place her return to Imperial Intelligence around 117 ABY. The precise date of her departure is not documented.

118–121 ABY Source gap

The years before Ossus restoration remain thinly documented

The later sabotage and wars should not be shifted backward into this interval merely to eliminate an empty line in the archive. The Ossus Project is documented starting around 122 ABY.

In-depth related history: Victory Without War and the Imperial Mission documents the Fel Empire's gradual emergence between the mid-40s and 127 ABY without assigning a fabricated founding year.

How this archive handles missing dates

What an unfilled year actually means

A gap in a researched chronology is not an assertion that a planet was at peace, that nobody was born, or that the Fel dynasty stopped governing. It means the publications currently checked do not provide a sufficiently trustworthy in-universe date and event to justify a named article for that particular year. Filling such a space with assumptions would make the archive look complete while reducing its accuracy.

Historical publications are different from events in the world

This interval contains genuine source-dated in-universe texts, including O'Pali's 55 ABY work on Thrawn and Kabanard's 81 ABY history of the Second Galactic Civil War. The works reveal how later historians characterized earlier conflicts. Their publication years are historical events in their own right, but they do not imply that a new battle was fought in the same year as each book.

Why we reject an exact Fel Empire founding year

The Fel dynasty emerged from the Imperial Remnant following the Second Galactic Civil War and the rise of Jagged Fel. Reference material gives its establishment as an interval after 44–45 ABY and before 127 ABY, not a confirmed public coronation on a particular day. The Victory Without War program and Imperial Mission helped make the regime's influence visible across the galaxy. Those institutions merit articles about their structure and social consequences, but inventing exact annual founding dates would turn a complex transition into unsupported certainty.

Why private lives sometimes supply firmer milestones

Kol Skywalker and Morrigan Corde's family history supplies approximately dated landmarks just before the Ossus Project. Cade was born in c. 115–116 ABY. Morrigan returned to Imperial Intelligence c. 117 ABY after leaving Kol and their toddler. Both matter because the later tragedy at Ossus and the Sith–Imperial War would shape Cade's life. They remain approximate because the original comics show retrospective memories, not formally dated birth and employment certificates.

What to do with disputed character dates

Morrigan's birth around 97 ABY has appeared as an unofficial estimate from artist Jan Duursema, based on how old the character might have been in 137 ABY. Roan Fel has a similarly unofficial age estimate. Those can be mentioned in biographies as creator observations, but they are too speculative to anchor new unquestioned timeline pages. A date given by a named sourcebook may be treated differently from one inferred from appearance or age.

Anthropological assessment: archival silences are structured

Written histories often preserve ships, political leaders and institutional publications more readily than the lives of ordinary residents. A military design introduced in 92 ABY has a crisp citation, while daily changes in family structure, care, trade and local government rarely receive annual dates. The scarcity of surviving stories may therefore reveal the publishing interests of the franchise and the priorities of the fictional chroniclers, not a truly empty society. The archive is designed to expose that imbalance rather than mask it.

Research priorities following this audit

The next editorial step is to cross-check every dated entry against its original comic, novel or sourcebook and ensure that approximate placements are not promoted to exact years. The period from 122 to 140 ABY includes much more story content, but overlapping article URLs and inconsistent dating still need review. A complete chronology can be thorough without providing false detail for unsupported intervals.
