A period of Jedi instruction

Grogu studied at Luke Skywalker's emerging training center on Ossus. Luke helped him recover physical and Force skills while attempting to teach lessons inherited from the earlier Jedi Order.

A difficult choice between relationships

Luke presented Grogu with a choice between continuing toward Jedi training and returning to Din Djarin. Grogu elected to leave the school and reunite with the Mandalorian who had become his protector.

The reunion on Tatooine

Grogu traveled to Tatooine, where Din and allies were fighting the Pyke Syndicate in Mos Espa. His arrival reinforced their partnership and set the stage for their renewed travels through the New Republic.

Anthropological assessment

Grogu's decision demonstrates that educational authority does not erase personal attachment. It also presents a child who is able to exercise agency in choosing the community within which he feels secure.

Did Grogu remain at Luke's Jedi training center permanently?

No. He chose to return to Din Djarin.

Explore three perspectives:

Grogu studied at Luke Skywalker's emerging training center on Ossus. Luke helped him recover physical and Force skills while attempting to teach lessons inherited from the earlier Jedi Order.

Training versus an enduring foundling bond

Grogu studies at Luke's training site on Ossus. Luke presents him with a choice between continuing Jedi instruction and returning to Din Djarin. Grogu chooses the relationship with his protector and eventually reunites with Din during the confrontation in Mos Espa.

This choice should not be described as species biology determining social destiny. It raises an institutional question about how a formal school handles competing obligations and attachments. The two characters later develop an apprenticeship and adoptive relationship, but this moment does not retroactively erase Grogu's earlier Jedi education.

Grogu's decision and the sequence of the reunion

The Book of Boba Fett places Grogu at Luke Skywalker's developing school, where he practices Force abilities and remembers parts of his past. In Chapter 6, Luke offers a meaningful choice represented by two objects: Yoda's lightsaber and the beskar chainmail given by Din Djarin. The scene concerns the path Grogu will pursue. It is not proof that the child instantly forgets his Jedi training, nor does the screen show him being expelled for breaking a recorded school rule. Lucasfilm's episode discussion emphasizes both the instruction and Grogu's continuing attachment to Din.

The outcome becomes clear in Chapter 7. Grogu arrives on Tatooine in Luke's X-wing, with R2-D2 at the controls, and returns to Din amid Boba Fett's conflict with the Pykes. The arrival belongs to the Mos Espa battle period and should not be dated as another rescue aboard Gideon's cruiser. The chainmail identifies his selection but is not itself a formal treaty between the Jedi and the Mandalorians. Lucasfilm's official Chapter 7 account confirms this sequence.

The cultural analysis concerns how a dependent person develops attachments while adults seek to transmit distinct traditions. Such an interpretation should not impose a universal rule that Jedi training and kinship must always conflict. Compare Luke's initial rescue with the Mos Espa battle; the two scenes answer different chronological questions.

Verification: Lucasfilm's Chapter 6 highlights. The named episode is the original story; the official editorial material is a second reference. Cultural interpretations are identified as IDS analysis. The 9 ABY grouping is approximate and does not prove the month or date of this event.
