1993 Topps Galaxy Series 1 base 140. The foil-stamped 140 are matching-number Millennium Falcon factory-set versions, not the regular base print. The six pack Etched Foils (1:18) and six factory starfield Holo Foils have different physical finishes despite matching subjects. Factory bonuses are Ken Steacy Vader promotional #0, separate 3D hologram Vader (collector H1) and Series Two preview (collector P4, printed number not independently established). Factory set limit 10,000 is not individual card serial numbering. Existing 140 base + 6 promo source fronts remain linked; newly added 155 variant/bonus rows contain no separately licensed or embedded card images. Just Toys Bend Em and binder/mail-away cards need further individual research. Run 88 adds distinct SWB1 binder-only Tarkin card, special #140 Just Toys mail-away reverse, and an original oversized Previews Jabba/Obi-Wan/Vader promotion absent from the former six promos. Just Toys lettered A–BB 28 items and nine second printings belong in a separate original figure-pack issue rather than duplicate rows here.

The original 1993 Galaxy Series One
Topps returned to Star Wars trading cards in 1993 with Galaxy Series One. Its 140 regular base cards present original-trilogy characters, comic artwork, historical production sketches and illustrations by different artists. The original retail packs held eight cards. The pre-existing IDS gallery contains original third-party front and reverse references for the 140 regular cards and another six promotional objects. Among the promotional examples is an uncut advance sheet, which is not equivalent to an individually numbered standard trading card. Each physical format belongs in the relevant checklist group.
140 factory-exclusive foil-stamped base versions
Topps also sold a Millennium Falcon-shaped factory set with a documented production of 10,000 packages. These included all 140 base subjects but with foil stamping added. They carry the corresponding original base number and are a different physical printing, not a new set of 140 artwork subjects or 140 independently numbered serial cards. Each separate factory foil-stamped entry now links to its matching numbered collector source record. That does not establish that a photograph is available: Trading Card Database reports extremely low factory foil photo coverage, and ordinary base scans cannot be substituted as proof of foil stamps.
Six retail Etched Foils versus six factory Holo Foils
The retail Galaxy Series One release had six Etched Foil puzzle cards inserted at a published frequency of approximately one for every eighteen packs. They feature Darth Vader, Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, Obi-Wan Kenobi with Yoda and Princess Leia. Six corresponding subjects appear in the factory-set Holo Foil group, whose cards use a holographic starfield background. Matching subjects and numbers should not erase this physical finish difference. Separate numbered original collector card records are linked for both six-card programs. Front and reverse files cannot be mixed across the two printings without direct photographic evidence.
The three factory-set bonus cards
The Millennium Falcon factory release includes additional original items beyond the foil-stamped base cards and six starfield Holo Foils. These are promotional card number 0, showing a Darth Vader illustration by Ken Steacy, a separate three-dimensional Darth Vader hologram, and a preview of the following Galaxy Series Two edition. Historical collector sources label the hologram H1 and the preview P4, but their printed code status is not independently confirmed in the indexed photo records. Those reference labels are marked editorial where necessary. The boxed product also supplied a randomly artist-autographed card, which does not establish a fixed additional numbered autograph checklist.
Unnumbered promotions and other original distributions
The existing six unnumbered Galaxy Series One promotional objects were distributed through different magazines, stores, conventions and comics. They retain distinct IDS editorial P1–P6 identifiers, never claimed as printed card numbers. The physical 1993 Previews oversized Jabba and lightsaber-duel promotion is now separately catalogued, rather than confused with the existing Advance Comics two-card Leia/Sandtrooper uncut sheet. The binder came with exclusive Grand Moff Tarkin card SWB1, a portrait attributed to Doug Medved in the original collector bibliography. The Just Toys mail-away also distributed a different reverse printing of checklist #140 that adds a Series Two announcement. Separately packaged Just Toys figures from 1993–1995 have an independent 28-letter original card checklist with nine documented second printings.
Checklist evidence and what is not pictured
The documented original Galaxy Series One comprises 140 base, six previously indexed promotional items, 140 Millennium Falcon foil-stamped base printings, six standard etched foils, six factory holofoils, three factory-set bonuses, binder card SWB1, mail-away checklist variant #140 and a previously omitted oversized Previews promo. That is 304 separate archive rows, many describing different printings rather than different art. Character-specific collector pages must not attribute every object in a composite scene without source support. Only the 140 regular base and six original promo source links already have identified external front image URLs. All further original collector records remain external links pending item-by-item photo and permission verification.
