The Hilts Restoration began immediately after the Time of the Rot and Great Crisis. Hilts's government rebuilt damaged cities and aqueducts, restored the capitol, widened opportunities for Force-sensitive Keshiri to enter Sith ranks, and made reaching Alanciar a unifying state project.
Rebuilding makes legitimacy visible
Aqueducts, cities, and the capitol had been damaged during prolonged turmoil. Repair allowed Hilts to turn political promises into material change.
Infrastructure can therefore function as propaganda and public good at the same time.
Keshiri mobility expands
Hilts permitted Force-sensitive Keshiri to become Sith Tyros and Sabers, partly honoring his Keshiri assistant Jaye Vuhld.
The reform widened access but did not erase the colonial hierarchy created by the Omen settlers.
Alanciar becomes the future
Knowledge of a second continent allowed Hilts to redirect competitive energy outward.
Expansion became a substitute for civil war, though it shifted the costs of unity onto another society.

Was the Restoration peaceful?
It reduced internal civil warfare, but its expansionist project later subordinated Alanciar.
Did Keshiri become equal to Human Sith?
Access improved, but social hierarchy and Sith political dominance remained.
Why call this a restoration?
Hilts presented the period as recovery of order and useful founder institutions after prolonged decline.
Anthropological assessment
Restoration language is politically powerful because it frames reform as return rather than rupture. Hilts could change institutions while claiming to recover a healthier past.
The case also shows how internal peace can be purchased through external expansion: a society may resolve factional competition by giving rivals a shared frontier to conquer.

Hilts Restoration begins: historical interpretation
Documented event and limits
Varner Hilts restored a measure of Lost Tribe central authority following the Great Crisis and its confrontation with suppressed origin records. The restoration program included repairing civic infrastructure and building a shared political future.
Society and material culture
The archive became an instrument of governance. Historical documents both unsettled former claims and helped justify new rule, while rebuilding public facilities made institutional recovery visible.
How certain is the in-universe date?
Ancient dates derive from Legends reference chronology, often approximate. IDS separates the source event from social interpretation and does not invent unnamed characters or exact demographic totals to lengthen an article.
