Issue three reaches comic shops
Marvel's Star Wars: The Fall of Kylo Ren #3 was released on October 21, 2026. The comic is written by Charles Soule, illustrated by Will Sliney, colored by Guru-eFX and lettered by Joe Caramagna. Phil Noto provided the principal cover. Soule's own publication listing verifies the date, credits and publisher's synopsis.
The installment belongs to a five-issue series following Kylo Ren's rise to power and his relationship with the Knights of Ren. Its narrative period falls between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. This is a new issue of The Fall of Kylo Ren, not a reprint of Soule's earlier The Rise of Kylo Ren comic.
The artifact and the returning droid
Marvel's official synopsis describes Kylo Ren attempting to assert control over the Knights of Ren as an apparently unstoppable assassin droid threatens his flagship. The issue connects the droid to a forbidden dark-side artifact. The released chapter, titled Deathless, adds information about the Umbral Shard and the events surrounding the Knights' possession of it.
Coverage of the issue identifies Tava Ren as a significant participant in these revelations and discusses a figure named Aavin Bellor. These are story spoilers, not new television or film casting announcements. Readers who want to experience the comic without plot details should stop after the publication information and proceed directly to the issue.
A First Order-era story with wider historical consequences
The series revisits the Knights of Ren at a point when Kylo has become Supreme Leader. It uses the group's relationship with dark-side objects, outsiders and its own internal authority to complicate the picture of the First Order's elite. Allegiant General Pryde and General Hux also appear in the issue's publisher synopsis, linking the conflict to established First Order leadership.
Readers should distinguish an event shown or described within the comic from broader claims about Sith history. The publisher has not described the Umbral Shard as a replacement for every other dark-side tradition or as proof of a new institutional order. IDS will add properly sourced character and artifact references as the five-issue storyline progresses.
