Star Wars: Galactic Racer Launches Worldwide and Adds Crait to the Circuit
Star Wars: Galactic Racer is officially available worldwide, and Lucasfilm’s launch trailer reveals Crait as a seventh racing world while bringing veteran podracer Sebulba into Shade’s campaign.

Quick read: Star Wars: Galactic Racer is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Lucasfilm’s October 6 launch coverage also reveals Crait as a seventh racing planet, an older Sebulba mentoring Shade, and a runs-based campaign where some progression survives failed tours.
The Galactic League is officially open
Star Wars: Galactic Racer launched worldwide on October 6 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, turning months of trailers and vehicle previews into a playable expansion of Star Wars racing culture. Lucasfilm marked release day with a new launch trailer and fresh story details rather than simply repeating the previously announced release information.
The most visible new reveal is Crait. The red mineral surface familiar from Star Wars: The Last Jedi joins Jakku, Sentinel I, Lantaana, Derven Acos, Ando Prime, and Tatooine, bringing the announced racing circuit to seven planetary settings. The addition matters because Galactic Racer is using recognizable Star Wars landscapes as active sporting environments rather than static references to earlier films.
The launch material also gives Sebulba a larger role. The veteran Dug podracer returns older, bearded, and still abrasive, but he now serves as an experienced figure whose knowledge can help prepare protagonist Shade for the Galactic League and the threat posed by champion Kestar Bool. That connects the game's new racing culture directly to the podracing tradition established in The Phantom Menace without making the new story simply a recreation of the Boonta Eve Classic.
A campaign built around risk, rebuilding, and community
Lucasfilm describes Galactic Racer as a high-stakes, runs-based racing adventure with Campaign, Scenario, and Arcade modes. In the solo campaign, players choose events as they move through the League, earning parts and other unlocks while facing the possibility that repeated crashes can end a tour. A failed run does not erase everything: certain perks and unlocks carry into later attempts, encouraging players to rebuild and try a different route.
The paddock is an important part of that structure. It is presented as a social space where racers exchange stories, issue challenges, and support one another. Shade's Ardennian mechanic Hibi operates a workshop on each planet, where earned or purchased parts can change vehicle statistics and abilities. That makes the racing circuit more than a sequence of tracks. It is also a mobile community organized around machines, reputation, competition, and specialized labor.
Today's launch is a material development beyond IDS's October 3 report on the game's four vehicle classes. That earlier story examined podracers, skim speeders, speeder bikes, and landspeeders before release. The game is now actually available, while the Crait reveal and additional campaign details expand what is known about the worlds and social structure of the Galactic League.
