On Odessen, former Republic, Imperial, Mandalorian, criminal, and independent actors formed a new Alliance. Their coalition did not erase older loyalties, but temporarily subordinated them to the common threat from Zakuul.

A CROSS-FACTION ALLIANCE ON ODESSEN
Historical facts and chronology
In 3631 BBY the Outlander and allies established a resistance Alliance on Odessen after escaping Arcann's prison. Republic soldiers, Sith Imperial defectors, Jedi, Mandalorians, smugglers and independent specialists came together under a shared command. Lana Beniko and Theron Shan helped organize the coalition while the warship Gravestone offered an answer to the Eternal Fleet. The Alliance's formation must not be confused with its later 3630 seizure of Zakuul's throne and the emergence of the Eternal Alliance as a successor power.
Anthropology and political consequences
A coalition built against a mutual oppressor does not dissolve ideological differences among its members. The Alliance had to negotiate competing codes of military command, political loyalty and obligations to communities that had once fought one another. Odessen became a practical center of integration, bringing displaced social networks into one organization. The challenge became especially acute after the coalition won, when the question of how to govern replaced the simpler objective of resisting Arcann.

Anthropological assessment
Coalitions succeed when participants can cooperate without first resolving every ideological disagreement. Shared danger can create a higher-order political identity.

A new political organization across old enemy lines
The Alliance created on Odessen gathered former Republic and Imperial personnel along with people whose loyalties lay outside either government. It emerged in response to the Eternal Empire's domination of the known galaxy, when the two older states had been weakened and could not independently match Zakuul's fleet. Former rivals worked under new leadership because the immediate struggle for survival made cooperation more useful than maintaining separate commands.
The coalition did not create identical beliefs among all of its members. Republic officers, Sith, intelligence operatives, smugglers and Mandalorian figures brought different institutional habits and memories. Odessen functioned as a place where new roles could be negotiated while the Alliance prepared operations against Arcann. Official SWTOR material describes joint exercises intended to help Empire and Republic veterans operate on the same team. Those exercises make sense only if historic tensions remained real.
Training builds more than tactical coordination
People from former enemy militaries may use different conventions for obedience, rank and operational risk. Shared exercises can create common routines that permit cooperation without eliminating differences in ideology. They are therefore part of building a political community rather than merely preparing for a battle.
A coalition can become an institution
The Alliance initially responded to an urgent threat. Developing a permanent headquarters, recruiting members and planning cross-faction missions gave it a political existence that outlasted any one meeting. Its later history shows how unity against a common enemy can become fragile once the enemy changes.
Did forming the Alliance legally dissolve the Republic and Sith Empire?
No. It brought members of those societies together under a separate coalition, while the older governments continued to exist.

A coalition built against Zakuul depends on cooperation among groups with previously competing loyalties.
Anthropological perspective: Political authority depends on institutions, resources and collective loyalties as well as military power. This is analysis of the documented event, not a claim that additional scenes occurred.
