Meetra and T3-M4 returned to Nathema, where the droid could identify the site of Revan's capture. They accessed surviving municipal records and found evidence connecting the dead world to Dromund Kaas. Using the recovered information, they located a safe route into the hidden Sith Empire and landed on its capital without alerting the Republic.

NATHEMA TO DROMUND KAAS

Documented chronology and evidence limits

Meetra Surik and T3-M4 retraced the Ebon Hawk's course to Nathema, where Revan's ship had been intercepted four years earlier. The droid's surviving information and Meetra's investigation helped reveal connections to the concealed Sith Empire. They followed evidence toward Dromund Kaas, the living capital of the regime responsible for Nathema's earlier destruction. The chronology has three distinct periods: Vitiate's original ritual centuries before; Revan's capture in 3954 BBY; and Meetra's own detective journey in 3950 BBY. Their separation matters because neither the ruins nor the pursuit occurred during one continuous battle.

Anthropology: institutions and everyday consequences

Nathema is an unusually stark example of a place serving as testimony when most direct witnesses have died. The surviving records and the absence of life exposed an atrocity, but a careful historian must distinguish surviving physical traces from reconstructed conclusions about the perpetrators. Dromund Kaas was not a lifeless ruin: it had trade, guard institutions, social hierarchies and political factions. Meetra could enter that society only by learning how information and patronage moved through the city. Archaeological investigation therefore became an intelligence operation reliant on a droid and local intermediaries.

Ruins provide intelligence across centuries

Nathema's surviving records connect Vitiate's ancient atrocity to his contemporary state.

A dead bureaucracy becomes a navigational archive.

Meetra enters an entire hidden society alone

Kaas City is not simply an enemy base; it is a functioning capital with markets, servants, soldiers, elites, and ordinary routines.

Meetra must move through that social system without the protection of a Republic army.

Anthropological assessment

Dromund Kaas demonstrates that secrecy can operate at the scale of a state when geography, controlled routes, and information discipline reinforce one another.

Meetra's arrival converts archaeological evidence into direct ethnographic encounter with a society her own government does not know exists.

A dead world's records expose a living Empire

Meetra and T3-M4 revisited Nathema while searching for Revan. The devastation of the world bore evidence of Vitiate's ancient crimes, but surviving municipal information also supplied a trail toward Dromund Kaas. The dead world thus functioned as both a warning and an archive. Records meant for earlier administrative purposes survived long enough to become intelligence for a rescue mission centuries later.

Dromund Kaas was more than an enemy fortress. The hidden capital contained servants, markets, soldiers and governing elites living within a complete political order unknown to most Republic citizens. Meetra had to move through that society without openly announcing her purpose. A historical account should resist describing the entire population as interchangeable with the Emperor's personal plans. It was a functioning social world whose inhabitants held different degrees of power and information.

Was the Empire already known to the Republic when Meetra arrived?

No. Her route into Dromund Kaas was clandestine, and her discoveries did not immediately become public Republic intelligence.
