Meetra used contacts and credits inside Kaas City to identify Lord Scourge as the Sith recorded during Revan's capture. Their arranged meeting in a cave outside the city was compromised by Nyriss's security chief Murtog and several soldiers. Meetra killed the attackers. Scourge, increasingly convinced that Vitiate threatened the Sith as well as the Republic, then agreed to cooperate in freeing Revan and assassinating the Emperor.

OPERATION SUPERNOVA

Documented chronology and evidence limits

Meetra sought the Sith who had captured Revan, using credits and local contacts in Kaas City. She dealt with Sechel, an associate of Dark Councilor Darth Nyriss, to identify Lord Scourge and arrange a meeting. The site outside the city became a trap set by Nyriss's security chief Murtog and soldiers. T3-M4 helped Meetra survive the skirmish. After the attackers were defeated, Scourge and Meetra considered cooperation: he wanted to prevent Vitiate's disastrous plans, while she needed to free Revan. Meetra's designation 'Operation supernova' is associated with this particular cave confrontation, not a coded name for the entire 3950 assault on the Emperor.

Anthropology: institutions and everyday consequences

The incident shows alliance formation without shared political identity. Scourge remained a Sith whose fears about his Emperor did not make him a Republic loyalist. Meetra was a Jedi willing to negotiate with someone connected to Revan's captivity. Both relied on partial information about the other's motives, and the attempted ambush made trust particularly fragile. The case also reveals ordinary urban infrastructure behind covert politics: merchants, cantina meetings, payments and security guards enabled a supposedly secret high-level operation. Intermediaries could affect the outcome of struggles between famous Force-users.

An alliance forms across enemy categories

A Jedi and a Sith cooperate because both judge Vitiate to be the greater threat.

Political identity does not mechanically determine every possible alliance.

Scourge's knowledge is indispensable

Meetra can fight inside the Empire, but Scourge understands its elites, security structures, and internal conspiracy.

Insider knowledge changes what an outsider can accomplish.

Anthropological assessment

Operation supernova shows coalition formation through overlapping interests rather than shared values.

Temporary alliances are most stable when participants are explicit about the narrow problem they are solving together.

A Jedi and Sith cooperate against a common ruler

Meetra's contact with Lord Scourge at Dromund Kaas was based on a narrow shared goal, not common allegiance. She needed information about Revan's captors, while Scourge had become convinced that the Emperor's plans threatened the Sith Empire itself. Their meeting outside Kaas City was attacked by personnel connected to Darth Nyriss, but the encounter led to cooperation.

An alliance is not the erasure of political identity. Meetra and Scourge remained shaped by opposing traditions and had reasons to distrust one another. They worked together because each possessed resources the other lacked: Meetra had an independent reason to confront Vitiate, while Scourge knew the concealed state's court politics and security. The later betrayal in the Imperial Citadel demonstrates how contingent the alliance remained.

Did Scourge join the Jedi Order through this agreement?

No. The partnership was pragmatic and temporary, and Scourge's later actions reflected his own interpretation of the Emperor's future.
