The Battle of Rakata Prime was the final battle of the Jedi Civil War. Republic warships engaged the Sith fleet around the Star Forge while Revan and allied Jedi boarded the station. Revan reached Bastila and persuaded her to return to the light; her battle meditation then strengthened the Republic fleet. Revan continued to the command center and defeated Darth Malak in their final duel.

BATTLE OF RAKATA PRIME
Events, sources and uncertainties
The final campaign brought Republic ships to the Star Forge above Rakata Prime. Bastila's battle meditation was a major factor in fleet morale and coordination, and Revan's light-side reunion with her restored that advantage to the Republic. Revan entered the factory, confronted Malak and defeated him in their last duel. Republic naval forces then destroyed the Star Forge. This is the established light-side Legends outcome even though Knights of the Old Republic permits a dark-side alternative.
Anthropological analysis
The Star Forge illustrates how control of industrial production can matter as much as a ruler's personal abilities. Defeating Malak removed the Sith's supreme commander; destroying the factory removed an apparatus that could produce large quantities of weapons and spacecraft. Bastila's allegiance shaped the collective naval engagement, while Revan's individual choices shaped the confrontation inside the station. A war's end therefore depended on both relationships and production systems.

Battle meditation reverses the fleet balance
Bastila's return to the Republic side converts the ability Malak sought to control into an advantage against him.
One person's allegiance affects thousands of combatants.
Malak uses captured Jedi as resources
He attempts to draw life energy from imprisoned Jedi to sustain himself during the duel.
People become components in the Star Forge's dark-side machinery.
Former friends decide the war in personal combat
Revan and Malak had moved from Jedi companions to wartime allies, Sith master and apprentice, enemies, and finally opponents in the Star Forge command center.
Anthropological assessment
The Battle of Rakata Prime joins institutional warfare to intimate relationship history.
Galactic conflict is decided partly through fleets and production capacity, but also through changing loyalties among people whose relationships predate the states they command.
The Star Forge as industrial power
The Star Forge was not simply a large fortress. The ancient Rakatan installation converted energy and dark-side influence into military production on a scale that made attritional war unusually difficult for the Republic. Revan had previously used it to expand the Sith fleet. Malak inherited the same infrastructure after seizing control. A final Republic victory therefore required both the defeat of the Sith leadership and the loss of the factory that sustained their military capacity.
The battle had several layers. Republic warships fought the defending Sith fleet. Revan's party entered the installation itself, moving the campaign from a massive fleet action to enclosed corridors and the command center. These simultaneous scales must remain distinct. The duel with Malak did not replace the fleet battle, and the fleet battle alone did not immediately remove Malak from power.
Bastila's allegiance mattered beyond her own survival
Bastila had been captured and turned by Malak before the final confrontation. In the established light-side Legends outcome, Revan brings her back from Sith allegiance. Her battle meditation then helps the Republic forces. This reverses the strategic purpose behind Malak's earlier attempts to capture her and creates a narrative connection to the opening attack on the Endar Spire.
A relationship that predates the Sith state
Revan and Malak were not strangers who happened to meet at the end of a war. Their shared service during the Mandalorian Wars, turn toward Sith rule and eventual rivalry made the final duel part of a much longer institutional fracture. Malak's attempt to draw on captive Jedi during combat also exposes the moral structure of the Star Forge regime: people were exploited as sources of power as well as recruited into military service.
The established outcome and player alternatives
The original RPG allows divergent character choices. Later Legends chronology adopts a redeemed Revan defeating Malak and helping destroy the Star Forge. An archive should state that convention explicitly rather than reporting every possible playthrough as simultaneous historical events. Alternate endings remain legitimate features of the game, but they are not separate facts within one fixed timeline.
Anthropological extension: rulers and production systems
The final battle shows why political power cannot be reduced to the identity of a ruler. Removing Malak mattered, but disabling the Forge was equally necessary because its machinery made the Sith military reproducible. The conflict links personal allegiance, forced labor, industrial production and control of technology. It also demonstrates that the collapse of a military center does not instantly erase the networks and ideologies that supported it. Surviving Sith factions remained part of subsequent galactic history.

A factory and a fleet decide the last campaign
Republic forces confront the Sith navy defending the Star Forge, while the crew of the Ebon Hawk reaches the ancient Rakatan station. Revan's confrontation with Malak is a decisive personal episode, but it occurs inside a campaign requiring pilots, transport crews and other combatants. Disabling the Star Forge's ability to sustain the Sith armada is a strategic outcome separate from the duel itself.
The Star Forge is a political and industrial object: the ability to generate military resources changes how a government can sustain coercion and replace losses. Its destruction removes an exceptional advantage, but cannot erase every person who served the Sith or eliminate future conflict across the galaxy. The location is associated with Rakata Prime, also known as Lehon, and with the legacy of the ancient Rakatan Infinite Empire. The names should not be mistakenly presented as separate final battles.
