In 3732 BBY, the Mandalorian Clan Ha'rangir began an expansion remembered as Ha'rangir's Path. The movement belonged to the centuries after the Mandalorian Wars, when Mandalorian identity continued to reorganize through clan migration, settlement, and competition rather than disappearing with military defeat.

HA'RANGIR'S PATH BEGINS

What the records actually establish

The SWTOR Legacy of the Sith organization codex dates the beginning of Clan Ha'rangir's ‘Ha'rangir's Path’ to the latter half of 3732 BBY. The clan named itself after Kad Ha'rangir, a Mandalorian god linked to destruction, change and growth. Its founders argued that cowardice and inaction weakened the Mandalorians and pursued an expansion marked by violence, occupations and raids. Early conquests produced a sizeable war chest. The clan's power later peaked in the 3600s BBY, but over generations newer leaders relied increasingly on money and administration rather than personally leading the front lines. The 3732 start should not be mistaken for the late-era peak or the subsequent gradual decline.

Anthropology: institutions and material life

This is a strong example of political theology shaping collective identity: an invocation of a named deity was used to justify conquest as cultural renewal. The clan's central contradiction was that raiding created the material reserves that later supported a more comfortable, less martial elite. Early warriors defined authority through courage and participation in violence; later generations defined it through control over wealth, property and command of resources. These changes do not mean all Mandalorians followed Clan Ha'rangir, or that Ha'rangir's Path replaced older clans and beliefs.

Why the familiar historical account can mislead

The codex places the clan on Ruhnuk and describes an eventual crisis about its purpose. However, the calendar date 3732 identifies the beginning of a movement, not the founding of every facility or the occupation of every later world. The editorial chronology distinguishes a public ideological program, territorial action and the later institutional evolution of the clan.

Trace the chronological stages
  1. The clan invokes Kad Ha'rangir and criticizes Mandalorian inaction
  2. Its campaign begins in the latter half of 3732 BBY
  3. Raids generate wealth that supports later, less martial power

Mandalorian history continues after defeat

Malachor V ended one war, not Mandalorian society.

Clans continued to migrate, feud, rebuild, and create new territorial identities.

Anthropological assessment

Military defeat does not end a culture.

Postwar migration can become a major mechanism through which collective identity is reconstructed.
