The Rianitus Period begins

The Ductavis Era ends and the Rianitus Period begins, opening a millennium later remembered for long Hutt political prominence and continued Republic expansion.

In 9000 BBY, the Ductavis Era ended and the Rianitus Period began. The period lasted until 8000 BBY. Later chronologies remember it particularly for the long reign of Blotus the Hutt and for continuing Republic expansion into worlds such as Jiroch-Reslia.

A new chronological period

Historical period names organize long spans of change into recognizable units.

The Rianitus boundary follows nearly two thousand years of post-Pius Dea reconstruction and technological change.

The age later associated with Blotus the Hutt

The period became famous for the 275-year reign of Blotus the Hutt as Supreme Chancellor.

His later career demonstrates how dramatically Republic political inclusion had changed since the humanocentric Pius Dea era.

Anthropological assessment

Periodization is a tool used by historians, not a natural property of time.

The Rianitus label helps organize events but should not be mistaken for a galaxy-wide cultural reset.

Period names are historians' organizing tools

The Rianitus Period begins after the Ductavis Era in the Legends chronology. This date organizes centuries of later Republic history but should not be mistaken for a single documented proclamation by the Senate. Period names help scholars divide time into recognizable stages. They do not demonstrate that every population changed its institutions or social identity at the same moment.

The later career of Chancellor Blotus is associated with political and commercial revival during this period. That connection does not mean he became Chancellor at the instant the era began: the in-game Galactic History codex records a 275-year tenure without supplying an exact accession date. A century-scale period marker and a ruler's biographical chronology describe different levels of evidence.

Comparison with the preceding Pius Dea and Ductavis histories shows why the periodization matters. The Republic had to rebuild relationships damaged by long religious persecution while maintaining government and trade. Reconstruction and later prosperity can be understood as processes spanning several governments rather than as accomplishments of an unidentified single year.

Historical judgment: Does marking 9000 BBY as the start of a period prove Blotus was elected in that exact year?

Explanation: No. The era boundary and the later Chancellor's term are distinct historical claims.
