Paladius founds the Screaming Blade cult
Evidence, timing and source limits
Around 3651 BBY the renegade Sith Lord Paladius developed a movement called the Cult of the Screaming Blade in the Nar Shaddaa underworld. The organization drew vulnerable followers through personal authority, fear and the promise of power, later becoming part of the conflicts encountered in the Sith Inquisitor class story. This foundation must not be confused with the cult's later confrontation with a rising Sith apprentice during the SWTOR era. The precise account of its earliest membership is limited.
Anthropological interpretation
Religious and political organizations can emerge outside the formally sanctioned Sith institutions, particularly in urban environments where marginalized residents encounter many competing networks. Paladius's cult is useful for studying charismatic authority: loyalty may depend on control of followers and ritualized reputation rather than a legal appointment. Nar Shaddaa's dense markets and criminal spaces gave groups opportunities to operate beyond the reach of conventional territorial government.
How to separate evidence from later interpretation
The event is conventionally situated in c. 3651 BBY, within the Great Galactic War or Cold War. Some archival sources offer only an approximate year or a retrospective account. Check whether a claim describes the contemporary public view, a later discovery or the historian's interpretation before treating them as equivalent.

Anthropological assessment
Cold wars create political space for actors who belong fully to neither state. Neutral commercial worlds become arenas where ideology, crime, and patronage overlap.
