BOWDAAR IS BORN
Evidence, dates and historical boundaries
The Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia dates Bowdaar's birth on Kashyyyk to 3838 BBY. Later stories describe him being taken from his homeworld as a child, enslaved, and forced to fight in arenas for the profit of others. His reputation and undefeated combat record developed over decades, eventually bringing him into contact with the smuggler playable protagonist on Nar Shaddaa during the SWTOR era. The birth entry should not move those later captures and bouts back to 3838, as the surviving sources do not provide the dates of each early event.
Anthropological interpretation
Bowdaar's biography illuminates the forced displacement of an individual from a society with its own language, kinship traditions and homeworld ecology. Arena owners turned his bodily skill into income while depriving him of the social benefits or freedom associated with his reputation. His later companionship with the smuggler did not make his earlier enslavement a voluntary sporting career. The history of a person cannot be reduced to a sequence of victories without acknowledging exploitation and the barriers to self-determination.
Trace the historical sequence

A life later defined by forced mobility
Bowdaar's adulthood would be shaped by removal from his homeworld and movement through markets of slavery and entertainment.
His biography connects Wookiee history to systems of coercive labor far beyond Kashyyyk.
Anthropological assessment
Bowdaar's later life shows how slavery can transform personal biography into forced transregional mobility.
Arena fame did not erase the coercive institution that produced it.
