HEDARR SOONGH WINS THE HUNT
What the sources establish
In 3708 BBY, Hedarr Soongh won the Mandalorian Great Hunt and became remembered as the youngest bounty hunter ever to attain Grand Champion status. His later SWTOR appearance on Nar Shaddaa reveals that he cared deeply about the contest's inherited traditions and worried about corruption of its reputation. The sources do not give a full bracket of every opponent at the 3708 contest, nor do they establish the age of every competitor. Accounts of his later death around 3643 BBY should not be collapsed into his youthful title-winning event.
Institutions, identity and social consequences
A competitive hunt acted as a public mechanism for validating status across Mandalorian and bounty-hunter circles. Victory translated combat competence into an identity other participants recognized, creating reputational capital that could outlast a person's active career. Soongh's later concern about tournament integrity indicates that customs required continuing negotiation over fair practice. Being a champion was not equivalent to being ruler of all Mandalorians: it was a distinct institution with its own prestige and gatekeeping.
