In 3954 BBY, Revan followed recovering memories toward Nathema aboard the Ebon Hawk with T3-M4. At almost the same time, Darth Nyriss had brought Lord Scourge to the dead world to reveal the scale of Vitiate's power. Nyriss detected Revan's ship, disabled it with an ion attack, and sent Scourge to investigate the crash. The two Sith recognized Revan and carried him back to Dromund Kaas as a prisoner.

REVAN CAPTURED ON NATHEMA: source evidence and social context
Chronology and documented limits
During his 3954 search, Revan arrived at Nathema with T3-M4 aboard the Ebon Hawk. Darth Nyriss and Lord Scourge were also visiting the dead world as part of their investigation of Vitiate. Nyriss disabled Revan’s vessel and sent Scourge to inspect it; Revan was captured and carried to Dromund Kaas. The capture inaugurated years of confinement, not a return to Republic leadership. T3-M4 was not treated as an equally important prisoner by the captors.
Institutions, beliefs and material consequences
The overlapping investigations exposed Revan to the hidden Empire’s internal factions. Nyriss sought information that could be useful in Sith political struggles, while Scourge’s involvement placed him near a captured enemy whose beliefs would eventually challenge the Emperor’s story. Nathema itself remained evidence of an atrocity the Sith state tried to keep secret. The episode shows how prisoners become resources in rival elite intelligence projects.

An investigation ends in four years of imprisonment
Revan had gone alone because he wanted to keep Bastila and the Republic away from the hidden Sith threat.
That secrecy meant no Republic rescue effort began when he vanished.
T3-M4 is overlooked
Nyriss and Scourge remove Revan but fail to find his utility droid.
T3 spends years repairing the Ebon Hawk and preserving the evidence that will eventually let Meetra Surik trace Revan.
Nyriss wants knowledge the Emperor does not have
The Dark Councilor keeps Revan in her own stronghold rather than surrendering him to Vitiate.
His resistance to the Emperor's earlier domination makes him useful to conspirators considering rebellion.
Anthropological assessment
Revan's capture shows the unintended cost of extreme operational secrecy.
The same decision that protects a community from knowing dangerous information can also deprive that community of the information needed to recognize disappearance, captivity, or abuse.
The end of one secret mission, the start of a long imprisonment
Revan reached Nathema while following fragments of recovered memory toward the hidden Sith Empire. Darth Nyriss and Lord Scourge were also investigating the dead world and its implications for Vitiate's power. An attack disabled the Ebon Hawk, allowing Revan to be taken prisoner. The same concealment that had protected his mission from public scrutiny also meant his family and the Republic lacked the information needed to organize a prompt rescue.
T3-M4's survival is central to the longer chronology. The droid remained capable of restoring the ship and preserving information that would later guide Meetra Surik. The event therefore turns on two different kinds of custody: the Sith physically controlled Revan, while an overlooked machine retained knowledge of where he had disappeared. The two histories would reconnect after several years, when the effort to free him finally began.
Was Revan immediately rescued after the Nathema encounter?
No. He was held for roughly four years before Meetra and Scourge reached him during the turmoil surrounding Darth Nyriss.

Revan's Nathema investigation becomes Nyriss's captivity
A dead world as investigative evidence
After regaining some memory of the threat beyond known Republic territory, Revan and T3-M4 traveled in the Ebon Hawk to Nathema. The planet's condition was an important clue to the nature of the hidden Sith Emperor's power. The original The Old Republic: Revan novel supplies this plot, not the playable route of the first KOTOR game. In the same period the Sith Lord Darth Nyriss brought Lord Scourge to Nathema, where the evidence of the Emperor's earlier actions could undermine assumptions about his legitimacy.
Interception reverses the purpose of the mission
Nyriss detected the approaching starship, disabled it and brought Revan into custody. The mission had been intended to uncover information about an external threat to the Republic; it instead gave a member of the hidden Sith ruling elite a prisoner with unusual intelligence. T3-M4's survival and concealment are relevant because droids can preserve information even when their owners are detained. Describing the capture as a voluntary meeting or a public diplomatic mission would misidentify both the risks and the actors' motives.
Several competing enemies, not one uniform Sith state
Nyriss opposed the Emperor for reasons that were not identical to Revan's. Scourge occupied his own position within the rivalries of the imperial court, while the Empire's existence remained hidden from the Republic. A captivity arrangement can temporarily align people who have little shared political vision. The source establishes this uneasy situation, but it does not justify invented conversations or a claim that Revan had already met Vitiate in this particular capture scene.
Check your historical interpretation: Did Revan intentionally enter Nyriss's custody as a member of her conspiracy?
Explanation: No. The novel describes an investigation interrupted by Nyriss. She uses the captive Revan and his knowledge for her own political purposes within the hidden Sith Empire.
