Saleucami is first colonized in Legends

Settlers establish communities in Saleucami's fertile volcanic calderas, beginning the planet's long history as an Outer Rim agricultural and trading world.

In Legends chronology, Saleucami was first colonized in 6100 BBY. Settlers took advantage of the world's fertile volcanic calderas, geothermal activity, and relatively favorable climate. A principal settlement developed around what became Taleucema, and later migration brought additional species to the planet.

Settling volcanic landscapes

Geothermal activity made otherwise harsh environments usable for agriculture and settlement.

Calderas offered fertile zones where permanent communities could grow.

Taleucema becomes a commercial center

A city and spaceport became the main hub linking local settlements to offworld traffic.

Trade allowed Saleucami to grow beyond a subsistence colony.

Canon and Legends disagree on the date

Legends generally uses 6100 BBY for the first colonization.

Current canon shifts Wroonian colonization to around 6000 BBY.

Anthropological assessment

Saleucami shows why separate continuity labels matter. Two timelines can preserve the same broad idea of ancient colonization while assigning different settlers and dates.

The planet also demonstrates how geology can shape settlement by making some landscapes much more habitable than the surrounding world.

Saleucami in Legends: an earlier Wroonian settlement

Evidence and chronology

The Legends account places the first Wroonian colonization in 6100 BBY. Early communities settled in fertile volcanic calderas outside the equatorial zones; the planet's favorable sites attracted later settlers from other species. Taleucema and the planet's later industry belong to subsequent phases of the same colonial history.

Anthropological interpretation

The inhabitants' choice of calderas linked settlement to ecology and accessible resources. Colonization was not the end of historical change: migration created additional communities whose collective identity was not limited to the first Wroonian arrivals. The environmental hazards would shape planning and exchange for generations.

What the sources do not establish

Canon separately places first Wroonian colonization around 6000 BBY. Some later Legends narratives connect Pantoran settlers with a particular city; that should not be used to replace the Wroonian founding population. No precise landing ship or settlement census is established for 6100 BBY.

Test the record: Should the Legends article be changed to 6000 BBY for consistency with Canon?

Explanation: No. Keep the 6100 BBY Legends record separate from Canon's 6000 BBY chronology.
