A pursuit that begins before the player seeks work

Korej Lim becomes the first named Haxion Brood bounty hunter Cal must confront during the Jedi: Survivor story. The ambush takes place at Koboh's Devastated Settlement, where Cal glides into the area while following the leads that could open a route to Tanalorr. He is not someone the player chooses from a completed bounty board. His attack is an automatic plot event, which makes him the point at which the bounty-hunting system first enters the campaign.

His appearance is identifiable through a blue helmet, protective armor, jetpack and long-range weaponry. Unlike characters whose clothing identifies a faction but not a specific person, the game's boss bar and later bounty record give this opponent a name. The identity matters because the post-fight scene has a particular consequence: Caij Vanda becomes available as the player's connection to a wider network of bounty targets.

The primary game material does not provide a reliable full childhood history, birthplace or intimate family record for Korej. It is therefore more accurate to describe his occupational system and documented actions than to invent a personal backstory to make the dossier longer.

Cal's bounty and the Haxion Brood

The Haxion Brood had previously pursued Cal in Jedi: Fallen Order, and the sequel expands the group of bounty hunters encountered during exploration. Korej demonstrates why the Brood is a threat: its agents use specialized equipment, ambush travelers and collect payment for dangerous work. Their pursuit of Cal has a market structure as well as a combat dimension.

The Grenadier role places Korej among a recognizable type of Haxion combatant. He uses distance, mobility and explosive area denial. Jetpack movement allows him to occupy spaces a ground-based fighter cannot immediately reach. The armor protects an investment in equipment as much as it creates a distinctive design. These practical details help identify the labor of capturing or killing a target without making a general claim about the character's species or psychology.

Not every Haxion fighter belongs to the same named crew or personal story. The existence of later Grenadiers and bounty squads does not establish that Korej commanded all of them. He is the first major contact in this particular campaign sequence, not documented as the organization's overall leader.

The fight over the Devastated Settlement

Korej attacks as Cal approaches one of the Devastated Settlement's platforms during Chapter 3. The terrain includes steep cliffs and narrow spaces that favor a fighter who can leave the ground. His jetpack permits quick changes in altitude and position, while the Jedi must manage the space between cover, mines and incoming shots. The encounter is part of the Research Tanalorr route, not an arena the player must find by consulting Caij's menu.

Game walkthroughs identify blaster fire, deployable mines and an unblockable flying kick. The mines used in this encounter are not safely redirected with Force Pull in the way some Imperial explosives can be. Directly approaching every flashing object can therefore be dangerous. More reliable strategies involve deflecting ordinary shots, avoiding mines and recognizing the kick's visual telegraph.

Korej also has vulnerable moments when he lands to reload. A player who only chases his jetpack through the air may overlook the simpler opening created by waiting for that pause. As with other bosses, the precise amount of punishment Cal can deliver depends on stance, available upgrades and difficulty. A dossier should teach the mechanic rather than promise a universal fixed-duration combo.

The arrival of Caij Vanda

After Korej is defeated, Caij appears and offers Cal a way to learn about other hunters following him. This meeting establishes a new optional activity at Pyloon's Saloon. The broader game includes sixteen initial bounty targets and Caij as the final confrontation, with the Caij Match trophy tied to completion. Some guides count the full set as seventeen locations or fights; this is a difference of counting conventions, not two unrelated systems.

The first Bounty Puck connects Korej's defeat to the shop mechanism used by Caij. Players can exchange Pucks for equipment and cosmetic rewards once the quest line is active. Korej's body can also be scanned for the Haxion Brood Grenadier Tactical Guide entry. One fight thus supplies both a social contact and an entry in Cal's combat-reference archive.

The later revelation that Caij has her own interest in the bounty economy changes how the entire chain should be understood. Her information may be useful and factually accurate while still serving an undisclosed plan. The first encounter with Korej is the mechanism by which Cal begins interacting with that information network.

A profession shaped by technology and compensation

Independent bounty hunting can look like a contest between individuals, but the Haxion Brood context is institutional. A wanted target has a price, intermediaries arrange or publicize opportunities, hunters invest in specialized gear and the results are recorded through proof of completion. The monetary value of the bounty influences who is willing to risk confronting a Jedi.

Korej's jetpack and blaster are evidence of a technological response to the dangers of the job. A lightsaber and Force abilities create a serious threat to someone fighting only on foot. Range and mobility help modify the encounter. That observation concerns tactics rather than whether the technology makes the hunter's cause legitimate. A person may have impressive equipment and still take part in a coercive system.

Collectible Bounty Pucks in the player's inventory are gameplay records. They should not be treated as documentation of every legal term governing the entire galaxy's bounty industry. The game leaves the negotiations, enforcement institutions and specific price of many contracts partly outside the player's view.

Anthropological assessment: monetizing danger

Korej Lim illustrates how conflict can be converted into contracted labor. The Haxion Brood does not need to possess sovereign authority over Koboh to attack a wanted target there. A market for violence creates incentives to move across territorial boundaries, invest in weapons and take risks that residents and travelers must then absorb.

The scene is also a lesson in classification. Korej is a named individual, but the game categorizes his combat techniques within a broader Grenadier class. The Tactical Guide organizes evidence about how that class fights, while the bounty record tracks a particular defeated hunter. Conflating those two sources would make all Grenadiers interchangeable with Korej or attribute unshown personal acts to him.

Finally, the encounter sets up questions about trust. Cal defeats someone who is pursuing him, then accepts guidance from a different hunter who presents herself as an ally. Accurate information can help a person survive and also lead them into arrangements that profit a broker. The social meaning of the first battle extends beyond its mechanical reward.

Relationships and factions

Anthropological assessment

The bounty hunter is an example of how a market for organized pursuit can create an institution across territorial boundaries. A named individual's equipment and contractual position are not reliable evidence of an entire species's traits.

SOCIAL SYSTEMBounty markets
MATERIAL CULTUREJetpacks and Pucks
EVIDENCE LIMITUnknown personal origins

The published story does not supply a complete biographical record, so the archive distinguishes observed conduct from conjecture about family, ethnicity, religion or a hidden early career. A character's equipment, affiliations and choices can still support rigorous cultural analysis when these limits are acknowledged.

Where to find and defeat Korej

Where to fight Korej

During the Chapter 3 Research Tanalorr story objective, glide toward the Devastated Settlement in Koboh's Stone Spires. Korej Lim attacks at the landing area. His appearance and first defeat are compulsory story progression; the later bounty jobs become optional.

01 · Deflect blasters

Return ordinary ranged attacks when he is facing Cal, while avoiding mines near the landing area.

02 · Leave the minefield

These deployed mines cannot be reliably handled like Force-pullable projectiles.

03 · Dodge the flying kick

A red warning signals his fast unblockable aerial attack.

04 · Attack while reloading

Close in when the jetpack hunter lands and pauses to reload.

Why did Caij appear only after I defeated him?

The first bounty fight introduces the faction's hunt for Cal and unlocks Caij's recurring bounty dialogue and the bounty menu.

Should I scan his body?

Yes. The Haxion Brood Grenadier entry can be added to the Tactical Guide after the encounter.
