Not every important 3626 BBY event was a battle. The All Worlds Ultimate Swoop Rally brought racing teams and spectators to multiple worlds during an ongoing galactic war. Competitors associated with the Horizon's Razor, Blatant Beks, and Pit Screamers used speed, explosives, risky obstacles, and crowd spectacle to turn swoop culture into a highly visible interplanetary event.
War does not eliminate ordinary culture
The Republic and Sith remained in conflict, yet people still traveled, watched races, sponsored teams, and built reputations outside formal military service.
This coexistence is historically important because wartime societies continue producing entertainment and subculture rather than becoming nothing but battlefields.
Three teams, three ideas about racing
The rally's teams emphasized different forms of skill and spectacle, allowing racers to choose styles of speed, technical control, or dangerous showmanship.
The event therefore functioned as identity performance as much as competition.
Old racing traditions become organized spectacle
Swoop racing had deep roots on worlds such as Taris and Tatooine. The Ultimate Rally packaged that tradition into a cross-world event with formal tracks, sponsors, and repeat participation.

Explore the event
Why include a sports event in a war timeline?
Because timelines become misleading when they preserve only governments and armies. Sport shows what people did for status, leisure, risk, and community during the same years.
Is swoop racing only entertainment?
No. It also supports mechanics, betting, sponsorship, transportation technology, and subcultural identities.
Is every later event a new historical date?
No. IDS treats 3626 BBY as the first dated appearance, with later recurrence noted rather than duplicated endlessly.
Anthropological assessment
The Swoop Rally is useful social history. Competitive sport creates communities, heroes, rivalries, and commercial networks that exist alongside formal political structures.
It also demonstrates how danger can be culturally transformed into prestige. Risk that would be condemned in ordinary travel becomes desirable when framed as controlled competition.

Why this event matters: The All Worlds Swoop Rally
Competitive racing creates a public arena where local identities, celebrity and commercial interests meet.
Anthropological interpretation: The event can be examined through institutions, social loyalties and the control of resources or information. That analytical perspective should not be confused with additional source-documented scenes.
Evidence check: documented event or interpretation?
The event and its broad place in the chronology are source-based. The social implications above are interpretation; exact private motives, undocumented dialogue and unreported casualties are not asserted.

All Worlds Swoop Rally: evidence and material culture
What happened
The All Worlds Ultimate Swoop Rally links three planets through competitive racing. A sporting institution can connect communities across the political divides of the Galactic War. The event features organized activities, venues and awards rather than being a single improvised road race.
Anthropological interpretation
This is a recurring in-game event introduced in Update 6.1.2. Assigning its introduction to an exact BBY year is an archival chronology convention, not proof that every recurring edition occurred in that same fictional year. The distinction avoids confusing real-world game schedules with historical dates.
Chronology, uncertainty and player choices
The BBY date is a Legends timeline placement and is not automatically established by a real-world game update release. Where the storyline branches, one optional player outcome is not asserted as universal. Recurring game events receive tentative placements.
Primary publisher record: Official SWTOR updates →. Hero image is original symbolic IDS artwork, not a published scene.
