In 3986 BBY, Nomi Sunrider called the Jedi Order to Exis Station for its first great convocation in more than a decade. The Order had rebuilt after the losses of the Great Sith War, and the meeting became a forum for discussing leadership, training, and the unresolved case of the exiled Ulic Qel-Droma.

The Exis Station conclave argues over recovery
What the record establishes
Nomi Sunrider gathered Jedi at Exis Station for the first major convocation after years of war and rebuilding. The Order faced the loss of influential teachers and the question of how to educate new members. Sylvar, who had lost her mate Crado during the conflict, called for judgment on the exiled Ulic Qel-Droma. Nomi emphasized the future of the Order rather than a single shared demand for retaliation.
People, institutions and interpretation
The convocation demonstrated that surviving a conflict does not create unanimous memory. Sylvar's insistence on accountability and Nomi's work on reconstruction arose from different experiences of the same war. Vima Sunrider's frustrations with formal training produced another response: she left to find Ulic herself. Exis was an ion-mining station used for a major gathering, not the traditional permanent Jedi headquarters.
Did the conclave unanimously condemn Ulic to death?
No. Sylvar demanded justice, but the meeting included competing views of Jedi responsibilities after the war.

The Jedi meet after institutional trauma
The Order had lost major Masters, Ossus, and enormous stores of knowledge.
The conclave represented recovery strong enough for collective deliberation again.
A new generation enters the debate
Vima Sunrider challenged the adults' settled judgments about Ulic.
Her intervention pushed the Order to confront whether redemption remained possible.
The next generation challenges the survivors
The Jedi who survived the Great Sith War had powerful reasons to fear Ulic Qel-Droma and to treat his exile as a closed moral judgment. Vima Sunrider belonged to a younger generation and refused to accept that conclusion without testing whether change was possible.
Her intervention makes the conclave more than an administrative meeting. It becomes a dispute over who gets to define the meaning of the recent past: traumatized survivors, institutions, or people who encounter the former enemy differently.

Why Exis Station?
The conclave provided a neutral gathering point for an Order whose old center on Ossus had been destroyed.
Why did Vima seek Ulic?
She believed the Jedi needed to know whether the man condemned as a traitor could still teach, change, or be understood beyond the identity fixed by the war.
Anthropological assessment
The Exis conclave shows postwar institutions renegotiating identity after losing leaders and sacred centers.
Generational change matters because younger members may question moral conclusions that survivors have treated as closed.

Exis Station: a postwar council with competing memories
The event established by the sources
Nomi Sunrider gathered members of the Jedi Order at Exis Station, an ion-mining facility in the Teedio system, in 3986 BBY. It was the first great gathering of its kind in more than a decade. The participants included people who had suffered in the Great Sith War and younger Jedi whose memories were different. Sylvar, a Cathar Jedi whose mate Crado had died during the war, argued that Ulic Qel-Droma still deserved punishment. Nomi focused on the Order's future, while her daughter Vima became dissatisfied with how senior Jedi addressed the exiled former Sith.
Institutions, culture and power
The place mattered. With the important Jedi archive world Ossus devastated, Exis provided an alternative meeting point outside the lost center. It brought different lineages and backgrounds into the same institutional forum. Sylvar's argument emerged from grief and accountability; Vima's eventual search for Ulic questioned whether a condemned person could teach anything after losing the Force. Treating the meeting as unanimous would obscure the fact that the Order was negotiating how it wanted to preserve war memory, teach its children and respond to past betrayal.
Where the evidence stops
A conclave is evidence of institutional debate, not an immediate restoration of every lost library, temple or community. The encounter between Vima and Ulic on Rhen Var and Ulic's death form a later part of the Redemption story, not the first scene at Exis Station.
Check your interpretation: Did every Jedi at Exis agree on what should happen to Ulic Qel-Droma?
Correction and insight: No. Sylvar demanded justice for the past while other participants emphasized teaching, recovery or the possibility of change.
