During the 11,600s BBY, Republic citizens fleeing the Pius Dea regime discovered and settled Prefsbelt IV. What began as an escape from theocratic rule later became strategically important: centuries afterward, Renunciate Admiral Pers Pradeux would rediscover the world and turn it into the resistance's principal naval base.
A settlement created by flight
The first settlers were not representatives of a Pius Dea colonization program. They were people leaving the regime. Migration therefore functioned as political refusal as well as geographic movement.
A frontier world could provide distance from institutions that controlled life in the Core and Colonies.
Prefsbelt IV
The planet lay in the Prefsbelt system and remained remote enough that later anti-Pius Dea forces could use it without immediate detection.
Its isolation, initially a burden for settlers, later became a strategic advantage.
From refuge to resistance infrastructure
By the 10,970s BBY, Pers Pradeux and the Renunciates established their main naval base on Prefsbelt IV.
A place founded by refugees from the regime thus became a base for the movement that helped destroy it.
Anthropological assessment
This event shows how political institutions, infrastructure, and collective identity interact across deep time. IDS separates documented facts from later reconstruction and avoids filling gaps with invented detail.

A refuge can become a strategic institution centuries later
People fleeing the rule of the Pius Dea regime established a settlement on remote Prefsbelt IV. Their movement should be understood as an attempt to create space outside the immediate reach of a persecuting government, not as proof that an organized naval resistance existed at the settlement from its first day.
The world became politically important much later when Admiral Pers Pradeux and fellow Renunciates used it as a secure meeting and naval location. This two-stage history demonstrates how an earlier migration can leave infrastructure and social ties that later movements repurpose. The interests of the first refugees and later officers need not have been identical.
Legends reference histories document the general sequence. They do not supply a complete passenger manifest, detailed refugee population census, or street plan of the first settlement. The source diagram therefore highlights refuge, later strategic use and the chronological interval instead of inventing a scene of the landing.
Check the evidence: Did refugees fleeing the Pius Dea immediately found the later Renunciate naval command?
Explanation: No. The refuge was established centuries before its later covert military use.
