01 · Orientation

Summary

Togruta are a humanoid species native to Shili and represented across the galaxy. Familiar individuals such as Ahsoka Tano and Shaak Ti should not be treated as stand-ins for an entire species or culture.

02 · Biology

Bodies and adaptation

Togruta have horn-like montrals and head-tails, with strongly patterned skin and faces. Their sensory biology helps distinguish them visually, but it does not prescribe personality, occupation, religion, or political allegiance.

03 · Society

Community and cultural variation

Communities on Shili and colonies such as Kiros developed their own local institutions. Togruta also live beyond those worlds, and individuals can be shaped by Jedi training, urban life, colonial displacement, family networks, or other social environments.

04 · Institutions

Politics and power

Togruta appear in local government, the Jedi Order, civilian communities, and wartime politics. Kiros's experience with Zygerrian slavers shows how outside powers can reshape community life through forced displacement.

05 · Change over time

Historical pressures

The Clone Wars exposed Togruta communities to enslavement and military occupation. Later eras broaden the archive through figures who no longer fit neatly within Jedi institutions or a single planetary culture.
