HIBI'S WORKSHOP / REAL EQUIPMENT FAMILIES
Upgrades, Parts and Abilities
Know what improves speed, what prevents crashes and what is only cosmetic.01 / Six mechanical upgrade tracks
What each track changes
The published database records ten levels in each base Upgrade track at 1,000 credits per level. Check the active shop, since faulty or special purchases can introduce additional effects and consequences.
Increase the specific stat that is causing you to lose races rather than assuming that all upgrades are equally useful. A weak exit may need Cornering and Afterburner, while frequent wrecks justify Resilience.

Nine Ability families
The published ability database includes upgraded tiers and related versions. Available options can depend on the Tour, unlocks, events and parts.
Some ability upgrades have documented tier costs of 1,000, 2,000 and 4,000 credits. Do not assume that a listed family has every tier immediately available; check Hibi's bench and the Tour rewards.

Cosmetic kits versus performance
The published vehicle database identifies fifty vehicle kits across four classes. Many appearance pieces such as bodies and other visual components do not change the base class performance. Mechanical Parts, the six Upgrade tracks, active abilities, Racer Styles and Favors are different systems with gameplay consequences. Individual podracers can have special traits or Faults.
A new body style does not automatically improve handling or top speed. For your next event, ask whether you need better Cornering, Battery, Afterburner, Resilience or heat management. Spend only after checking the exact item description and whether it persists after the Tour.
