DERVEN ACOS / ACT I BOSS RACE

The Qualifier vs. Sebulba

At the end of Act I, Kestar Bool arranges a tougher qualifying event by putting Shade against Sebulba. The campaign encounter is described as a four-lap head-to-head race; finishing second does not qualify you. The route atlas lists six checkpoints for its 5.7 km forward route.

01 / Race brief

What to do before the start

Return to Hibi and inspect every fitted part and ability before committing. Prefer upgrades that extend safe boost windows or improve corner exits. The independent strategy guide suggests Enhanced Coolant, Lethal Velocity, Burn Protection, Spark Plugs and Overcharged Autopilot if those parts are available. None are guaranteed drops.

PRIMARY DANGER · Head-to-head pressure and long boosts

If Sebulba beats you, spend persistent tuning resources and start a new Act I tour. The route choices may differ on your next run.

Follow the route

Select a stage to read the corresponding driving plan. These stages follow the progression of a race, not undocumented geographic checkpoint coordinates. Use the mapped course link above for the actual road and gates.

ROUTE PHASE 01 / 4

PRE-RACE SETUP

Review your fitted parts and look for synergy between acceleration, heat control, survivability and any takedown bonuses. You do not need an exact online build to win.

How to recognize it

If you have Overcharged Autopilot, test it on a broad section instead of a tight tunnel.

Shortcuts, forks and checkpoints

1 alternative lines are recorded for this route configuration, and 6 checkpoints are documented in the course database. That does not mean each branch is faster, marked in-game as a shortcut or safe for every vehicle. The atlas has top-down and 3D geometry; inspect it before committing to a fork.

  1. Open the matching main-forward route in the atlas and identify the checkpoint sequence.
  2. Find any alternate branch and verify its rejoin before making a speed comparison.
  3. Run the same version in Arcade, where possible, and complete two clean attempts on the normal line.
  4. Test one alternative at a time, using finish time and crash count to judge the trade-off.

IDS has not personally driven this game or extracted checkpoint coordinates. We do not claim a specific left-right turn or shortest line without matching gameplay/map evidence.
