Opening · Counterpoint and the Belsavis assignment: where to go and what to do
The Consular starts Chapter 3 on the Defender after To Serve the King. Counterpoint is a Tython Noetikons and Hoth Rakata-monument investigation. Only after returning to the ship does Hostile Population send you to Belsavis.
2 required story missions. Use the numbered instructions below to find the right contact, progress the purple quest and jump directly to the next required class mission. Heroics, planetary chains and kill-count bonuses are deliberately excluded.

MAIN OBJECTIVEConsult the Noetikons on Tython and investigate the Rakata monument on Hoth to strengthen the Rift Alliance's campaign.
Required previous mission: To Serve the King. If the purple objective is missing, finish the listed prerequisite and its ship or contact conversation, then check the story journal before taking unrelated planetary quests.
Follow these story objectives
After To Serve the King, return to the Defender and use the intercom for the Chapter 3 assignment.
Travel to Tython and use the Noetikon terminal indicated by the class objective.
Travel to Hoth and locate the Rakata monument. Inspect the ice wall, defeat the Rakata guardian droids, then interact with the wall again.
Destroy the ice wall when the objective appears and examine the monument.
Complete the monument's final objective, return to the Defender and use its intercom to receive Hostile Population.
Where players get stuck: This is NOT a Belsavis-only opening. Chapter 3 starts with two earlier-world revisits before the Belsavis assignment.

Follow these story objectives
Use the Defender intercom after completing Counterpoint.
Travel to Belsavis and track Hostile Population, not the yellow planetary prison storyline.
Follow the purple class objectives into the prison research area and investigate the local Esh-kha lead.
Finish the Geland/Komi story interaction and take Category Ten at the identification card.

Where players get stuck: The bonus objectives to destroy ten droids or defeat fifteen escaped prisoners are not prerequisites.

After each required story objective, finish the final conversation and check the Defender intercom whenever a new destination is assigned. On Voss, do not skip Find the Ancient Artifact before Shattering. On Corellia, the class finale continues to Coruscant after the First Son fight. Never substitute a Heroic, planet arc or bonus kill-count for the purple class mission.
