ALL FOUR REPUBLIC ORIGIN STORIES · AFTER CHAPTER 3
Where to go after your class story: Republic Ilum
Whether you played Jedi Knight, Jedi Consular, Trooper or Smuggler, your next original-era story campaign is the Republic Ilum planetary arc. Begin with Crystal Ball from Lieutenant Ha'laa on Republic Fleet and follow all five missions through two Flashpoints and the final Rans report.
5 planetary story missions · 2 story-mode Flashpoints · 1 direct progression chain. This is a shared Republic arc, not a Chapter 4 exclusive to your Origin Story, and does not require completing every optional Ilum mission.
First travel route: Fleet → Ilum → Republic Base Camp
Finish the finale and the last turn-in for your original Republic Origin Story.
Go to Carrick Station (Republic Fleet). Check the inner ring for Lieutenant Ha'laa and the purple Crystal Ball quest marker.
Travel to Ilum with your ship galaxy map. Talk to the Shuttle Pilot on Ilum Orbital Station before boarding the descent shuttle.
At Republic Base Camp, follow the MAIN-LEVEL green story door to Supreme Commander Rans. Do not go down to the Flashpoint floor yet.
Prerequisite: Finish the original class story and reach the required level for the Ilum arc (normally level 47 or higher). The official 7.7.1 patch notes explicitly make Crystal Ball unavailable before class-story completion.
Republic Base Camp has TWO different floors
MAIN LEVEL · Supreme Commander Rans: Use the green phase door on arrival for the Crystal Ball introduction. Return here after each story Flashpoint for the Ilum Under Siege dialogue.
LOWER LEVEL · Two Flashpoints: Once Ilum Under Siege requires a Flashpoint, take the base elevator DOWN to The Battle of Ilum and The False Emperor entrances. The lower-level Flashpoint doors do not replace the upstairs story contact.
WHERE TO GORepublic Fleet inner ring → Ilum Orbital Station → Republic Base Camp
REQUIRED OBJECTIVEBegin the Republic Ilum campaign and investigate Imperial crystal mining on the surface.
Prerequisite: Original Republic class story finished
Where to go, step by step
Finish the last purple chapter objective and turn-in for your Republic Origin Story. Ilum is a shared Republic campaign, not Chapter 4 of the class story.
Go to the Republic Fleet. Near the inner ring, find Lieutenant Ha'laa (a yellow Twi'lek), the purple Crystal Ball mission contact. If the mission already appears in your journal, track it instead of accepting it again.
Use your own ship's galaxy map to travel to Ilum. On the orbital station, speak to the Shuttle Pilot before boarding the descent shuttle.
At Republic Base Camp, take the MAIN-LEVEL green story entrance to Supreme Commander Rans. Do not descend to the Flashpoint level yet.
Follow the quest to the Relacite Deep-miner. Destroy the machinery, then scan the Relacite Communication Terminal.
Destroy the Mephite Deep-miner and scan its communication terminal.
Report to Samm Bradber, confront Lord Loyat and his Sith Protectors, and finish Loyat's post-fight conversation.
Report back to Samm Bradber. The next campaign mission is A Gentleman's Agreement.
If stuck: If Crystal Ball is not available, finish the entire class ending and check level 47+ and the Eras window. Game Update 7.7.1 made class-story completion a prerequisite; do not follow the Imperial First Strike route.

WHERE TO GORepublic Base Camp → Commander Jiyan Dar → Imperial prison and sensor towers
REQUIRED OBJECTIVERescue Supreme Commander Rans from Imperial captivity.
Prerequisite: Crystal Ball
Where to go, step by step
Speak to Samm Bradber at the Republic camp after Crystal Ball, then meet Commander Jiyan Dar at the class/map objective.
Locate the central, western and eastern sensor towers, and disable each of those three towers. Follow their separate map markers.
Reach the Imperial prison site where Supreme Commander Rans is held.
Defeat the Minion of Pain and the Apprentice Torturers guarding Rans.
Release Rans and defend him through the rescue counterattack.
Talk to Rans after the defense, finish the final report, and receive Armada.
If stuck: The multi-stage Prison Riot kill, prisoner-release and code-collection tasks are bonuses, not prerequisites. The mandatory rescue uses three sensor towers.

WHERE TO GORepublic Base Camp → Imperial stealth-fleet staging sites across Ilum
REQUIRED OBJECTIVESabotage Imperial ships before their stealth generators can be installed.
Prerequisite: A Gentleman's Agreement
Where to go, step by step
Return to Supreme Commander Rans after A Gentleman's Agreement.
Open your world map and track Armada, then travel to the Imperial ship staging sectors highlighted by the mission.
Complete the ship-sabotage objectives in the sequence displayed by the purple planetary mission.
Return to the Republic command contact indicated by the updated map.
Speak to Samm Bradber to accept The Jedi Temple.
If stuck: Armada is an Ilum planetary storyline mission, not a repeatable ship boarding operation or Flashpoint. The 15 Imperial-enemy Delayed objective is a bonus.
Source:Mission record. Locations, contacts and step order are source-backed; unverified map turns and entrance GPS are not invented.
WHERE TO GORepublic Base Camp → Ilum Jedi Temple instance
REQUIRED OBJECTIVEConfront Darth Arho, who commands the Imperial ground forces.
Prerequisite: Armada
Where to go, step by step
Speak to Samm Bradber after Armada.
Travel to the Ilum Jedi Temple using the purple mission marker; do not take the lower Base Camp Flashpoint elevator.
Enter the correct temple story phase and follow the active objective to Darth Arho.
Defeat Darth Arho and finish the associated conversation or story report.
Return to Supreme Commander Rans to receive Ilum Under Siege.
If stuck: A Fair Fight is a separate Normal quest available after Armada, while Purging the Impure is a defeat-count bonus. Neither replaces the purple The Jedi Temple storyline.

WHERE TO GORepublic Base Camp MAIN LEVEL for Rans; LOWER LEVEL for both Flashpoints
REQUIRED OBJECTIVEComplete The Battle of Ilum and The False Emperor in story order, reporting to Rans between them.
Prerequisite: The Jedi Temple
Where to go, step by step
Speak to Supreme Commander Rans at Republic Base Camp after The Jedi Temple. He begins Ilum Under Siege.
Now descend via the Republic Base Camp elevator to its LOWER LEVEL. That is where the story entrances for both Flashpoints are located.
Enter [STORY] The Battle of Ilum, take the mission shuttle to the battlefield and complete the Flashpoint, defeating Darth Serevin at the end. Story mode is the solo-friendly option.
RETURN TO RANS on the MAIN LEVEL after The Battle of Ilum. Finish his dialogue before attempting The False Emperor.
Descend again, enter [STORY] The False Emperor and fight through the battlestation to confront Darth Malgus.
RETURN TO RANS AGAIN for the final Ilum Under Siege report. Completing a repeatable standalone Flashpoint without tracking Ilum Under Siege does not necessarily advance the planetary story.
After the final Rans report, the story chronology proceeds to Rise of the Hutt Cartel on Makeb and the shared expansion campaigns.
If stuck: If a story Flashpoint entrance refuses you, check your Ilum Under Siege objective and character level (Battle of Ilum story 48+, False Emperor story 50+). The lower-level DG-93 droid and Captain Farnis can re-offer individual STORY Flashpoints; those repeatable versions alone do not complete the overarching Ilum mission.
Source:Mission record. Locations, contacts and step order are source-backed; unverified map turns and entrance GPS are not invented.
What if a story Flashpoint does not advance Ilum Under Siege?
First inspect your Ilum Under Siege purple mission step. You must be on its corresponding “Complete Flashpoint” objective and run the story Flashpoint. A separate repeatable [STORY] Flashpoint by itself does not necessarily advance the original Ilum quest.
If the entrance is unavailable, verify the story mission and level requirements (The Battle of Ilum story mode at 48+, The False Emperor story mode at 50+). Near the lower-level entries, DG-93 offers the Battle of Ilum story Flashpoint and Captain Farnis offers The False Emperor. Talk to Rans upstairs between them and after the final run.
Not Imperial: First Strike, T9-M6 and Grand Moff Regus are the Imperial Ilum route. Republic players begin Crystal Ball with Lieutenant Ha'laa and report to Rans.
