Revan searches the Star Map worlds for the route to the Star Forge

The Ebon Hawk crew follows Rakatan ruins across Tatooine, Kashyyyk, Manaan, and Korriban; the exact visit order varies, but the combined maps reconstruct the route to Lehon.

After the Dantooine Council identified the Star Maps as the best path to the Star Forge, Revan and the Ebon Hawk crew traveled among Tatooine, Kashyyyk, Manaan, and Korriban. Each world preserved a fragment of Rakatan navigational information. The player's route can vary, so these missions belong to one route-variable chronological block rather than a falsely fixed planetary sequence.

THE STAR MAP QUEST

Events, sources and uncertainties

After the Dantooine discovery, Revan and the Ebon Hawk crew sought surviving Star Maps on Tatooine, Kashyyyk, Manaan and Korriban. The ancient Rakatan navigation devices helped reconstruct the route to Lehon and the Star Forge. The 2003 game lets players explore several of those worlds in different orders; a chronology can group them in 3956 BBY without inventing one mandatory route. Malak's interference and the Leviathan capture interrupt the quest as information about Revan's identity emerges.

Anthropological analysis

The journey crossed societies with very different institutions: Tusken communities and Czerka interests on Tatooine, Wookiee kinship and enslavement on Kashyyyk, Selkath neutrality and kolto on Manaan, and the Sith Academy on Korriban. Each location was more than an empty container for a map. The information left by an ancient empire became strategically useful only when modern travelers negotiated these social landscapes.

Tatooine

Revan enters Sand People territory and encounters a Rakatan Star Map in an ancient site.

The mission can expose a history of colonization and violence obscured by outsider stereotypes about Tusken Raiders.

Kashyyyk

Revan returns to the Shadowlands and accesses the Star Map while becoming involved in the conflict between Freyyr, Chuundar, Wookiee resistance, and Czerka exploitation.

Manaan

The search intersects with kolto politics, Sith intelligence activity, Hrakert Station, and Force-sensitive Selkath being manipulated by the Sith.

Korriban

Revan infiltrates the Sith Academy and explores tombs in the Valley of the Dark Lords, moving through institutions he had once helped restore as Darth Revan.

Anthropological assessment

The Star Map quest shows how one strategic objective can pass through radically different local histories.

The same traveler is forced to negotiate indigenous sovereignty, slavery, corporate power, neutrality, religious institutions, and archaeological heritage because galactic infrastructure is embedded in local societies.

The Old Republic / connected history

The search route moves through societies, not empty locations

After Revan's return to Jedi training on Dantooine, the Ebon Hawk crew set out to reconstruct the route to the Star Forge. The principal Star Map worlds could be visited in more than one order, giving the narrative a structure different from the linear journeys usually presented in a historical list. Dantooine provided the initial lead, but the wider quest drew the crew into struggles involving corporate exploitation, Sith training, rival intelligence services and indigenous communities. Each stop offered evidence about Rakatan technology while revealing a different aspect of contemporary Old Republic society.

On Kashyyyk, the search was entangled with the position of Chuundar, Freyyr and Czerka. On Manaan, neutrality and the kolto trade shaped what Republic and Sith operatives could do. Tatooine brought the crew into contested Sand People territory, and Korriban placed Revan inside the institutions of Sith education. The game allows different decisions in several of these encounters, so the historical account should distinguish fixed discovery of the route from optional tactics, dialogue and planet order. The party's information was not limited to formal Jedi sources; it also depended on companions with different local experiences.

One galactic objective, many local consequences

A strategic search may move across several worlds while bringing little attention to ordinary people who inhabit them. Revan's journey shows the limits of treating societies as stopovers on a route map. Trade, colonization, servitude and religion were not incidental background textures. They conditioned what the crew could learn and whom they could trust.

Player choice is not a single canonical travel log

The game's variable sequence is a historical feature worth stating directly. A narrative that gives one precise order without source support would falsely make one player's decisions universal. Grouping the quest as a 3956 BBY research phase preserves both the shared objective and the differences between player routes.

Which Star Map world must every player visit first after Dantooine?

No single order for the four major quest worlds is mandatory. The storyline converges on the Star Forge route, but the path through Tatooine, Kashyyyk, Manaan and Korriban is variable.

Research across worlds with different political systems

The Ebon Hawk crew seeks Rakatan Star Maps that may identify the Star Forge's location. The pursuit sends travelers through diverse societies and landscapes, including Tatooine, Kashyyyk, Manaan, and Korriban. Those locations are not interchangeable puzzle rooms: Czerka's commercial exploitation, Selkath concerns about Manaan's neutrality, and Sith academy hierarchy produce different constraints on access to information.

The crew's progress depends on negotiation, translation, trust, technology, and knowledge inherited from older societies. Archaeological information can become a military resource when its use gives one faction an advantage over another. The original game offers optional quest order and player dialogue choices. A timeline can describe the shared broad journey without claiming that all players visited every location in the same order or reached identical local political settlements.

Historical judgment: Travel order and optional quests should not be fabricated as fixed chronology. Publisher's related original account →. The analysis of political institutions is IDS interpretation, not game dialogue. Day-level event dates and player-defined decisions are not asserted.
