Maintenance depends on the hidden industrial capacity the First Order develops away from New Republic oversight. The ship's existence therefore reveals years of production, training, and supply work conducted before open war.
Ownership, authority, and status
The vessel is state property of a militarized movement whose identity depends heavily on Imperial inheritance. Assignment conveys command status within a tightly controlled hierarchy.
Doctrine or livelihood
Doctrine combines intimidation, carrier capacity, heavy weapons, and improved combat systems. It attempts to preserve the Star Destroyer's political symbolism while correcting perceived technical weaknesses.
Modification and adaptation
The class is less about individual modification than institutional redesign. The First Order adapts the Imperial template at fleet scale.
Mobility and historical meaning

Modification records local knowledge and changing needs. Mobility then connects all of those elements by deciding which people, goods, weapons, and ideas can move through space.
