High-speed craft in a rocky course

SENTINEL I / ACID SURVIVAL

Caustic Fields

The standard forward configuration of Caustic Fields has three checkpoints and eight alternate lines. Sentinel I's acid hazard makes the outer edge of a shortcut less forgiving than its apparent distance suggests. There are also reverse and special configurations with different geometry.

01 / Race brief

What to do before the start

Select a resilient build and study the main forward map. In the event briefing, identify whether mine hazards or a special route are active. Do not assume the number of alternate lines means eight safe or useful shortcuts.

PRIMARY DANGER · Corrosive terrain and unsafe edge lines

When you're repeatedly reset by acid, deliberately choose the wider outer-safe route for a few clean laps before testing narrower alternatives.

02 / Practical step-by-step

Follow the route

Select a stage to read the corresponding driving plan. These stages follow the progression of a race, not undocumented geographic checkpoint coordinates. Use the mapped course link above for the actual road and gates.

ROUTE PHASE 01 / 4

INITIAL APPROACH

Keep a clear margin around corrosive edges while learning the course. The first objective is to identify and avoid the acid zones.

How to recognize it

If entering a bend alongside other racers, do not allow contact to push you onto the dangerous side.

04 / Route selection

Shortcuts, forks and checkpoints

8 alternative lines are recorded for this route configuration, and 3 checkpoints are documented in the course database. That does not mean each branch is faster, marked in-game as a shortcut or safe for every vehicle. The atlas has top-down and 3D geometry; inspect it before committing to a fork.

  1. Open the matching main-forward route in the atlas and identify the checkpoint sequence.
  2. Find any alternate branch and verify its rejoin before making a speed comparison.
  3. Run the same version in Arcade, where possible, and complete two clean attempts on the normal line.
  4. Test one alternative at a time, using finish time and crash count to judge the trade-off.

IDS has not personally driven this game or extracted checkpoint coordinates. We do not claim a specific left-right turn or shortest line without matching gameplay/map evidence.
