B2 Super Battle Droid

B2 Super Battle Droid is a Separatist Droid tank whose main contribution is removing enemy buffs and preventing them from returning. Mow Down removes all positive status effects from enemies and can inflict Buff Immunity. Reactive Protocol may shorten B2's cooldowns when Separatist allies are attacked or their attacks are evaded, so the unit can disrupt enemies even without unusually high Speed.

01 / BATTLE ROLE

Why this character earns a team slot

B2 Super Battle Droid is a Separatist Droid tank whose main contribution is removing enemy buffs and preventing them from returning. Mow Down removes all positive status effects from enemies and can inflict Buff Immunity. Reactive Protocol may shorten B2's cooldowns when Separatist allies are attacked or their attacks are evaded, so the unit can disrupt enemies even without unusually high Speed.

Effective squad-building starts with an answer to a simple question: what problem does this unit solve that the other four cannot? A support can create a needed turn or keep a critical ally alive. A tank can divert attacks and buy time, while an attacker may provide a finishing sequence or damage modifier. Read the actual ability wording and the opponent's restrictions before assuming a familiar character always plays the same role. The current team format, relic levels, mods and active upgrade tiers all change results.

Read the exact playable version

Several Star Wars heroes have more than one playable incarnation in Galaxy of Heroes. A guide is only applicable when the full name and faction tags match the unit on your account. Each skill description below summarizes the fully upgraded mechanics, with specific notes where advanced upgrades change their function.

02 / FOUR ABILITIES TO RECOGNIZE

The kit, explained by use case

ABILITY INTELLIGENCE

Heavy Arms

The basic attack applies Target Lock. Against a target already carrying that effect it can create further disadvantages, so check whether the target-lock sequence is active before selecting a new enemy.

ABILITY INTELLIGENCE

Mow Down

An area attack that dispels all positive status effects on enemies and has a substantial chance to apply Buff Immunity. It is often the reason B2 is included in the squad rather than for raw damage.

ABILITY INTELLIGENCE

Reactive Protocol

Its cooldown-reduction chance responds when Separatist allies are damaged or evaded, and its later Zeta adds Turn Meter for other Separatist Droid allies whenever B2 applies a debuff. That late effect changes team tempo.

ABILITY INTELLIGENCE

Target Lock interactions

Additional parts of B2's kit affect Target Locked enemies, but those effects depend on ability level and may require the target lock to remain in place. The opponent's immunity matters as much as your Potency.

The importance of a skill is not the same as its rarity or upgrade cost. An Omega, Zeta or an additional unique effect may improve your team's overall performance more than the next level of a damaging basic attack. Conversely, a mode-limited improvement might accomplish nothing in the event you currently play. Confirm the latest ability level and its exact wording in the live game, then choose a specific result you want the upgrade to change.

03 / PLAY THE SQUAD

Five in-battle decisions

  1. 1. Scout the enemy team for buffs that prevent damage or protect a priority target.
  2. 2. Check whether Mow Down is ready and whether using it before the team's main attack would remove those buffs.
  3. 3. Observe B2's Reactive Protocol during allied damage or evasion and do not assume an ordinary fixed cooldown.
  4. 4. Use Target Lock to support other Separatist Droid interactions where the targets qualify.
  5. 5. If Buff Immunity repeatedly fails, inspect resistibility, Potency and the enemy's relevant buffs instead of forcing the same attack sequence.

This is a scenario-based decision sequence, not a fixed rotation. The correct order can change when an enemy starts with a bonus turn, a pre-battle Taunt, a Datacron modifier, or control immunity. If your initial attempt fails, record the first decisive event. Ask which ability failed, which enemy acted earlier than expected, and whether a missing upgrade or mod caused the difference. That gives you an actionable farming or retuning goal instead of an unhelpful statement that the team was too weak.

Five-character training formation

LEADERGeneral Grievous
ALLY 1B1 Battle Droid
ALLY 2B2 Super Battle Droid
ALLY 3IG-100 MagnaGuard
ALLY 4Droideka

General Grievous sets the Droid team's attrition mechanic, B1 assists and helps with Target Lock, B2 removes buffs and prevents their return, MagnaGuard provides Taunt and team protection, and Droideka contributes concentrated damage. B2's role is control, not the highest damage number.

This lineup is a learning example, not a verified current counter for every opponent. In Grand Arena 3v3 it cannot be copied intact, and mode-specific Omicrons or new unit releases may alter the ideal formation. Identify each member's unique contribution before investing further. If you replace a tank or control unit, determine which opposing ability can now disrupt your sequence. For a broader explanation, open the squad-building guide, or look up a documented opponent in the GAC Counter Desk.

Mod starting point: Triple Potency

SetTriple Potency
ArrowCritical Avoidance
TriangleProtection
CircleProtection
CrossPotency

In a recent Kyber sample, Triple Potency is the single most common set among top players, while Critical Avoidance, Speed and Protection arrows are all used. Consider Potency and Tenacity variants depending on the defender. Select the actual primary stats based on the control problem you want B2 to solve.

Published mod popularity is not proof that an arrangement is mathematically best for a specific encounter. Inspect Speed secondaries, the other characters' turn order, the type of enemy debuff you must resist or apply, and whether a fragile unit needs more Protection. Remember that square and diamond mod slots have fixed primary categories. Spend slicing resources only once a candidate helps a named battle goal. The six-slot mod guide explains how these decisions work in general.

06 / AVOIDABLE ERRORS

Where players waste upgrades

Gear, relic materials and high-tier ability materials are much harder to replace than an ordinary battle attempt. Before buying an ability or raising the next relic level, state what the investment is supposed to accomplish. If it does not solve the problem in the mission, squad or guild mode you intend to complete, the resources may be better saved for another character or fleet prerequisite.

07 / QUICK ANSWERS

Questions worth checking

Does B2 need to be fastest?

Not always. Reactive Protocol can create additional ability opportunities after allies are damaged or evaded. Compare the opponent's first turn with your own need for early buff removal.

Is this the best team for every game mode?

No. A five-character example illustrates a coherent kit, but 3v3 and 5v5 Grand Arena, Territory Wars, guild raids and seasonal activities have different constraints. Recheck unit eligibility, enemy mechanics, and any Omicron requirement.

Where should I farm this character?

Open the current in-game acquisition panel or linked unit source. Farming nodes, shipment offers, accelerated drops, and event availability can change. Do not spend crystals because an old screenshot lists a particular offer.
