EA DEVELOPER UPDATE · OCTOBER 5, 2026

Droid Destruction raid is in development

EA is targeting November for this upcoming raid. Its proposed roster draws from recent Era units, and EA says even Tier 0 will have no entry requirement. These details are provisional and can change before release.

03 / CURRENT RULESET

The Eras overhaul changed progression

EA introduced Eras in the November 2025 anniversary update. A standard Era includes three Episodes, six Marquee units, a Journey Guide unit, Episode Quests, and Era Challenges. Some Eras differ from that standard. Episode Tracks and quests became available beginning at player level 10, rather than being restricted to level 85.

Era units use Era Levels and Era-specific upgrade materials, separate from the Legacy gear and Relic resources used for established characters. At the end of an Era, units transition into the Legacy progression system. This separation matters: a beginning player can participate in seasonal content without abandoning every long-term project.

The Coliseum is an Era mode unlocked at player level 10. It features rotating bosses and score-based rewards. Treat any exact winning squad, unit threshold or daily ranking tactic as season-dependent. Your available Era units and the current boss determine what works.

2026 accuracy note

Do not follow pre-anniversary advice that treats Galactic Challenges and Era Challenges as identical. Also check current in-game UI before applying older guides about Light Side and Dark Side table locations.

04 / BUILD A STRONG TEAM

Composition before collection

A reliable squad usually combines a leader whose ability benefits the team, characters sharing useful tags, a damage plan, and enough control or protection to keep the team operating. Five individually powerful characters can perform worse together than five moderately developed characters that activate one another's abilities.

01

Read the leader ability

Check which allies qualify. A faction-restricted leader bonus is wasted on characters without the matching tags.

02

Identify the win condition

Determine whether you win through turn-meter advantage, assists, debuffs, burst damage, sustain or a special event mechanic.

03

Protect the key unit

Choose a tank, healer or control character that gives your main damage or support unit time to act.

04

Test against a real matchup

Check target priority and enemy mechanics. A counter guide is useful only if you match its star, gear, relic and ability assumptions.

Build around a target event or recurring reward source. Track the exact unlock requirements in your own Journey Guide. A roster plan should show not just which five characters to farm, but what those five unlock next.

05 / FLEET OPERATIONS

Ships need their own plan

Starships are not simply character skins. A fleet includes a capital ship, combat vessels, reinforcements and, for crewed ships, pilots whose progression affects performance. The Fleet Arena system becomes available at player level 60 under EA's documented onboarding structure. Prioritize enough ships and pilots to participate consistently rather than postponing fleet development until the rest of the roster is finished.

When comparing two ships, consider their roles, tags, interactions with your capital ship, reinforcement effects and whether their crew already has value elsewhere in your roster. Investing in a pilot can improve both a character squad and a fleet. Do not assume an expensive capital-ship unlock is attainable immediately: check the current event prerequisites and recurrence before committing.

06 / EQUIPMENT INTELLIGENCE

Mods, gear and upgrade discipline

Mods let players tune character performance. Start by understanding slot compatibility, primary stats, secondaries and set bonuses. Speed is often important because acting earlier can mean applying control, gaining buffs or removing a threat before the opposing team responds. It is not automatically the best possible stat for every character.

Learn the role before choosing a set: attackers may need damage or critical performance, a tank may need Health, Protection, Tenacity or Defense, and support units frequently benefit from taking turns at the right time. The relevant ability kit and team plan determine priorities. Keep useful secondary-stat rolls rather than upgrading every mod equally.

Gear, relics, Zetas and Omicrons are different investment decisions. Omicron value depends on its specified game mode; do not treat an Arena-only or Territory Wars-only effect as active everywhere. Before spending an unusually scarce material, identify the exact mode and reward it improves.

07 / MULTIPLAYER AND ENDGAME

Choose content by its requirements

COOPERATIVE

Guilds and raids

A consistent guild provides access to coordinated activities. Read participation rules and current raid scoring before investing in a narrowly useful raid roster.

TERRITORY PLAY

Territory Battles and Wars

These modes reward broad rosters, defensive planning, coordinated deployment or strategic counters, depending on the mode.

COMPETITIVE

Grand Arena and Fleet Arena

Depth matters. Save enough usable teams for multiple matchups instead of investing all resources in one showpiece squad.

On October 5, 2026, EA announced information about a forthcoming Droid Destruction raid. That is a reason to monitor official updates, not to publish unverified launch mechanics or guarantee a particular team will score best.

08 / IDS ANTHROPOLOGICAL FILE

Star Wars as a collection economy

Galaxy of Heroes turns characters, factions and historic rivalries into a system of roster ownership, resource management and cooperative competition. A Jedi, clone trooper, droid or Imperial officer is not merely a role in a story. Each becomes a unit with faction classifications, upgrade costs, abilities, and eligibility for particular activities. This changes how the player encounters the fictional galaxy.

The guild is another form of institution. Members coordinate contributions, meet requirements and allocate their time around events. Individual success depends partly on collective participation. Timed Eras add another dimension: resource decisions are made under changing event windows, while Legacy progression remains a longer-term record of earlier investments. IDS treats these as observations about the game's design, not as claims about how every player behaves.

The game's freely accessible starting point coexists with optional purchases and randomized-item mechanics. A useful player guide should therefore distinguish effective free progression from spending shortcuts, identify resource scarcity clearly, and avoid describing purchases as necessary for participation.
