An alternative to Bad Batch for conventional Grievous Droids: use Revan's Direct Focus, Yoda's buffs, Jolee's revive and Kenobi's survival tools. Historic records contain successes and losses. This is not a guaranteed current-season victory.

01 / HISTORICAL ELIGIBILITY
Which Droid team are you fighting?
By Imperial Dark Sector
POSSIBLE HISTORICAL FIT
Classic Grievous Droids
A conventional Grievous five with B1, B2, MagnaGuard and Droideka or a documented substitute. Historic Jedi Knight Revan, Bastila Shan, Grand Master Yoda, Jolee Bindo and General Kenobi attempts are recorded. Revan's upgrades and Jedi durability must be adequate.
STOP AND VERIFY
Unknown fifth, mods or Datacron
An unusual fifth, vastly stronger Grievous, a high-impact Datacron or an opponent that controls the Jedi opening invalidates a simple historical assumption. The January 2026 archive includes losing examples. Read the actual lineup before choosing the attack.
This five-Jedi formation appears in the historical matchup data. Changing Kenobi or Jolee changes the sustain engine. Do not assume other Jedi fifths preserve the same records or banner result.
Defense leader: General Grievous
JEDI KNIGHT REVAN · JEDI TEAMVS.GENERAL GRIEVOUS · DROID FIVE
Control B2 when appropriate, keep Jolee alive, and prepare for Grievous's bonus turns.
03 / KIT REQUIREMENTS
Why the Jedi plan works—and why it fails
KIT MECHANIC 01
Revan · Direct Focus
At the upgraded ability tier, Direct Focus inflicts Marked and Buff Immunity, increases the target's cooldowns, reduces Turn Meter, Stuns and calls Jedi assists. The Marked and Buff Immunity effects cannot be dispelled or resisted. Choose a target deliberately; this is not a generic auto-win.
KIT MECHANIC 02
Revan · General and Savior
The General leader Zeta provides Jedi speed and recovers protection after out-of-turn Jedi attacks. Savior can rescue an eligible Jedi from a first would-be defeat. It is a limited one-time safety mechanic and not indefinite immunity.
KIT MECHANIC 03
Jolee · That Looks Pretty Bad
Jolee's upgraded Special revives fallen Jedi and restores health, provided he is alive, able to act and not locked out by the cooldown or opposing control. Treat him as a survivability requirement instead of assuming the revival always happens.
KIT MECHANIC 04
Grievous · Metalloid Monstrosity
When a Droid or Separatist ally dies and this Unique has its Zeta, Grievous dispels debuffs, resets cooldowns and gains a bonus turn. Killing B2 or another Droid without preparing for that retaliation can ruin the attack.
Verify your upgrades inside the game.
Direct Focus, General, Savior and Jolee's Zeta-tier revive are not interchangeable. A missing upgrade can turn a survivable historical counter into a dangerous attack.

These game portraits illustrate genuine unit mechanics. They are not captured frames of a documented JKR win or an interactive battle simulator.
Decision 1 / 4Evidence-linked tactical briefing
01 / VERIFY
DECISION 1 / FOUR
Read the entire Grievous defense
The documented older 5v5 examples generally involve B1, B2, MagnaGuard and Droideka, sometimes with a different fifth. Check all five, their gear and Datacron.
If conditions change: If the fifth or the starting Turn Meter differs, you cannot assume the old opening works.
02 / TARGET
DECISION 2 / FOUR
Direct Focus a consequential threat
A properly upgraded Direct Focus can mark a reachable B2 or another priority Droid and organize Jedi assists. Choose the target based on the legal opening, not a single fixed order.
If conditions change: If B2 is protected or control fails, stop expecting every Jedi attack to follow a historical example.
03 / PROTECT
DECISION 3 / FOUR
Keep Jolee ready for the first loss
Jolee's revive and Kenobi's protection can extend the fight, while Revan's Savior is limited. Keep health, cooldowns and enemy bonus turns in view.
If conditions change: If Jolee falls before his revive can fire, the safety plan is gone.
04 / FINISH
DECISION 4 / FOUR
Use Yoda's extra turn and choose safe eliminations
Masterstroke gains a bonus turn while another Jedi lives; Battle Meditation shares eligible buffs. Coordinate damage without accidentally inviting an uncontrollable Grievous retaliation.
If conditions change: B1 stacks, MagnaGuard Taunt and unusual Datacrons can still delay the finish.
04 / REAL MATCH DECISIONS
Six steps before you commit the attack
This is not a guaranteed turn-by-turn script. Your actual Speed, debuffs, Datacrons and enemy fifth determine the move order.
01
Confirm a conventional 5v5 defense
Compare B1, B2, Droideka, MagnaGuard, the possible substitute fifth, their relics and the current Datacron. The historical archive reports both successful and failed JKR fights.
02
Check the actual Revan and Jolee upgrades
Revan's Direct Focus Zeta and General leadership matter, while Jolee must have a usable revival. A five-unit guide does not apply unchanged to three-character Grand Arena.
03
Decide whether B2 is the right first target
The older records describe using an AoE to provoke B2 then focusing it. That is one observed approach. Read your current turn order and whether Direct Focus can mark B2 before copying that decision.
04
Keep Yoda's buffs and Jedi assists productive
Yoda's Masterstroke and Battle Meditation can accelerate Jedi attacks. Direct Focus supplies a marked target, while General leadership rewards certain out-of-turn damage with Protection recovery.
05
Plan for Grievous's bonus turn before killing a Droid
When an allied Droid or Separatist falls, Grievous may reset cooldowns, cleanse and take a bonus turn. Preserve Kenobi and Jolee so one elimination does not cost the entire Jedi team.
06
Finish the correct surviving threat
After B2 is controlled, look for a reachable Grievous, but B1 stacks and MagnaGuard's Taunt can change access. Recheck every cooldown, target and Datacron effect after each defeat.
Recheck enemy Taunt, Marked, Grievous's current Health, cooldown resets and Jolee's revival after every defeat.
INTERACTIVE / FAILURE ANALYSIS
What broke the Jedi counter?
Select the first decisive problem you observed. This tool does not access a game replay or your personal roster.
B2 strips my buffs before Revan can focus
Your first-turn or target-access assumption may be invalid. Check speed, Taunt, enemy control and whether Direct Focus can lawfully select B2. A stronger Jedi offense stat does not solve every control problem.
Grievous suddenly takes a bonus turn
Metalloid Monstrosity triggers on an ally Droid or Separatist defeat at the relevant upgraded level. Do not attack as though the first Droid kill ends the dangerous phase.
Jolee never revives the team
Check Jolee's Special upgrade, cooldown, control effects, survival and whether the fallen characters count as Jedi. Revan's Savior does not replace Jolee's revive.
B1 stacks and MagnaGuard delay the kill
B1's Battalion and MagnaGuard Taunt can draw out the attack while Grievous grows stronger. Reassess a marked target and focus rather than scattering damage.
My opponent has a different fifth or Datacron
The older example does not certify a variant with BB-8, Nute, an unusual Datacron or a higher-relic Grievous. Inspect same-season records against the real formation.
HISTORICAL DATA / 5V5 VERSUS 3V3
Inspect the actual Grievous record
The archive may include many attacker formations. Confirm that Jedi Knight Revan appears with your selected allies and examine the enemy five, relics, Datacron and sample size. The guide does not independently establish a Season 84 success percentage.
