PHOENIX / FIVE-UNIT CORE
Hera → Captain Rex → Kanan
Start with Hera's leadership, add Captain Rex's support, then study Kanan's protection. Compare Chopper, Sabine, Ezra and Zeb in the finder below.
IDS HOLOTABLE / CHARACTER FINDER
Search and filter 109 curated Galaxy of Heroes characters by faction, learn how unit variants and abilities differ, and plan your next roster upgrade.

01 / HOW TO SEARCH
The playable roster has multiple versions of characters who look or sound similar. Darth Vader and Lord Vader, Ahsoka Tano and Ahsoka Tano (Fulcrum), or The Mandalorian and The Mandalorian (Beskar Armor) are separate units with different kits and requirements. Before following any farming advice, open the full unit name and read its in-game tags. A search result with the wrong variant can lead to costly upgrade mistakes.
These 109 curated reference entries help players understand factions and roles. They are not a list of every playable unit, a patch-verified ability database, or a live meta ranking. Faction names and exact unit variants have been checked against the current SWGOH.GG roster. This is a curated selection, not every playable unit; it does not claim to audit live skill levels, unlock sources, counters or the current meta.

02 / READING A KIT
LEADER
Does the ability function only when the unit leads? Which allies receive its strongest effects?
ATTACKER
Read whether damage depends on critical hits, debuffs, stacks or ally actions instead of guessing from role labels.
SUPPORT
Identify whether the unit supplies control, buffs, dispels, turn-meter changes or other effects.
TANK
A Taunt, revive or damage-reduction effect has to activate under the conditions stated in the kit.
PILOT
A character upgrade can contribute to a ship if the unit is its named pilot or crew member.
VARIANT
A shared name or costume is not proof of shared abilities, faction tags or farming prerequisites.
03 / UPGRADE PRIORITIES
04 / UPDATE POLICY
The next stage can add individual character dossiers with verified kit text, ability upgrade priorities, team interactions, related ships, beginner relevance, counters with documented conditions, and current farming locations. To avoid misleading readers, a character is not marked "fully documented" until those details are individually checked against current publisher or game evidence.
For the full roster, SWGOH.GG's live character directory ↗ provides every playable unit and current faction tags. See the IDS Counter Desk for a mode-specific matchup research workflow. For live statistics and the broad roster, SWGOH.GG is a useful external reference. IDS does not scrape that service or claim access to private player rosters.
