IDS ATTACK OPERATIONS / PLAYBOOK 01

Darth Traya against Geonosians

Traya's leader Zeta penalizes enemy out-of-turn ability use, while Isolate can neutralize important parts of a target's assist/positive-effects cycle. This is an established community approach for older Geonosian defenses, not a guaranteed current Season 84 result.

01 / MATCHUP ELIGIBILITY

When this attack is worth considering

POSSIBLE FIT

Use this as a scouting candidate

A conventional Brood Alpha lead with Hive Mind, Brute, Spy and Sun Fac, with no unreviewed event modifier or unusual high relic/Datacron advantage.

CAUTION

When to decline

Do not send an undergeared Sith group into much stronger Geonosians, and do not assume this plan applies to Poggle's Territory Wars Omicron. TW mechanics and 5v5 GAC are not interchangeable.

Evidence level: Established older community strategy, NOT independently verified as a successful Season 84 lineup from text-accessible battle rows. Before committing, open the actual season statistics and compare the entire enemy lineup with your available units. A matchup recommended several years ago may now depend on a Datacron, a kit adjustment or a changed fifth character.

Team roles above explain the intended mechanic, not a requirement to own every optional character. A five-character list can only enter 5v5. In 3v3, no guide can claim that removing two allies preserves the same battle results. For solo Wampa, the four empty slots are intentionally essential to the Omicron, not a recommendation to fill them.

Check the current ability names:

Traya’s out-of-turn damage is granted by the Compassion is Weakness leader Zeta. Lord of Betrayal is her separate Unique, which also has a Grand Arena Omicron. Some archived 2018 kit announcements show different names, so use the current in-game ability levels rather than relying on an old screenshot.

03 / ABILITY TRIGGERS

What must work for the plan to succeed?

KIT INTERACTION 01

Traya's leader Zeta

Enemies that use abilities outside their turn suffer Max Health damage that cannot itself defeat them. Geonosian assists create repeated triggers, but your Sith must survive and deliver the final blow. Verify the actual installed leader tier.

KIT INTERACTION 02

Isolate / summoned Brute

Traya's Isolate prevents out-of-turn attacks and positive effects for the affected target, allowing a strategy that contains Brute's protection behavior. Check who is reachable and whether the target currently has Taunt; avoid treating Isolate as an area cleanse.

KIT INTERACTION 03

Sion's durability

Sion must absorb a swarm without collapsing before the strategy produces results. Pain, defensive mods and gear level can matter more than adding a fragile Sith attacker who cannot survive Spy.

KIT INTERACTION 04

Nihilus as finisher

Darth Nihilus can manage cooldown pressure and work toward Annihilate. Do not assume an early Annihilate will be available or targetable; examine target restrictions and enemy survival.

These summaries describe fully upgraded kit mechanics. If a Zeta, Omicron, special ability tier or faction restriction is missing from your account, the sequence below may not apply. Verify those terms through the primary character references in the source desk. The game interface is the final authority on your unit's actual upgrade level.

TACTICAL DECISION 01 / 04

Confirm your actual leader

Select Traya as leader and inspect the installed Compassion is Weakness Zeta.

If the battle changes: If the leader tier is missing, stop: the out-of-turn damage engine is not available.

04 / CONDITIONAL OPENING WALKTHROUGH

Six decisions for your attack

Use this sequence to reason about the next action. Do not interpret it as an automated battle or a guaranteed win path. A resisted debuff, a different first turn or an unexpected Datacron effect must change the plan.

  1. 01

    Scout first

Confirm Brood Alpha's full five, the Brute summon, each relic tier and the current Datacron. If Spy can eliminate a Sith immediately, recognize that the historic counter may be unsafe.

  2. 02

    Verify your Traya leadership

Make sure Traya leads and her Compassion is Weakness Zeta is applied. Without the out-of-turn damage clause, the entire attrition premise changes.

  3. 03

Keep a Sith alive through the first swarm

Use Sion as your protection engine and check whether Isolate can neutralize Brute in your exact opening. A low-gear Sion may be a larger bottleneck than Traya's raw Speed.

  4. 04

    Control an accessible threat

When legal, contain Brute or an ally whose assists impede access. Then identify when Brood Alpha or Spy can be safely reached. Avoid wasting damage into perpetual Brute regeneration.

  5. 05

Let the enemy's assists carry a cost

Geonosian swarm attacks activate Traya's leadership damage, but the damage cannot directly defeat a unit. Keep your actual damage and cooldown-control abilities ready to finish.

  6. 06

Finish without sacrificing the remaining team

Select a reachable elimination, monitor Conscription and Spy's burst, and keep a response available for a surprising dispel or a revived/renewed Brute. If the first Sith falls early, reconsider the whole matchup.

When something unexpected happens:

Recheck the exact target restriction, enemy Taunt, cooldown, turn meter, and whether an ally or summoned unit triggered a separate effect. The reason for failure is often visible in a kit clause that was not active in the example that inspired the counter.

INTERACTIVE / FAILURE DIAGNOSIS

What went wrong?

Choose the problem closest to the first decisive error in the fight. This is a troubleshooting reference, not a replay interpreter; it does not read your game account or infer which characters you actually own.

Sion dies before the loop works

Your damage sponge cannot withstand the combined swarm. Compare gear, survivability, Tenacity Down and the enemy Spy, rather than adding only more offense.

Geonosians keep recovering

Hive Mind equalizes Health/Protection and Brood Alpha's Conscription heals the team. Isolate and a concentrated elimination matter more than scattered damage.

Traya's leader effect isn't working

Check that Traya actually leads, the Zeta tier is installed and enemies are performing eligible out-of-turn abilities. Compassion is Weakness's out-of-turn damage is not supposed to deal a finishing blow.

I lose to Spy burst

Spy can remove a fragile Sith even while Traya's leadership is active. A stronger defensive Sith core or a different attacking squad may be required.

I am in Territory Wars

Poggle's Territory Wars Omicron can materially change Geonosian mechanics. This GAC-oriented approach is not evidence for the TW matchup.
