Summary

Geonosians are an insectoid species from Geonosis whose industrial capacity made their world central to the Separatist war effort and later a target of catastrophic Imperial violence.

02 · Biology

Bodies and adaptation

Geonosians are insectoid and include physically differentiated forms associated with labor and social roles. Their biology and social organization interact, but political decisions still emerge through institutions and leadership.

03 · Society

Community and cultural variation

Geonosian life is organized through vast hive settlements, queens, workers, warriors, and industrial production. Arena spectacle and foundry labor are major features of the society seen during the late Republic.

04 · Institutions

Politics and power

Under Poggle the Lesser, Geonosis became a major Separatist center and weapons-production world. Geonosian industrial expertise also contributed to early Death Star development.

05 · Change over time

Historical pressures

The opening battle of the Clone Wars took place on Geonosis. After the war, the Empire nearly exterminated the Geonosian population in order to conceal the Death Star project, leaving only scattered survivors in known canon accounts.
